  1. im set now for surgury . I got all my releases from the dr.,psych. lost the 20lbs. and got all of my medical records. they said aim for surgury in june and maybee sooner. I just have to show up for the dietition 2 more months for insurance. Im ready!!!! Im going to get my vitamins and suppliments this weekend .
  2. I had a long talk with the dr today. he pretty much convinced me to go with the bypass. i talked to 2 surgeons and both had to remove a lapband in the last week due to erossion one had to remove 2 . I asked about the sleve and its not an option being on medicare and medicaid they only cover band or bypass.
  3. just wanted to indroduce myself and hopefully find more peoplle in my area going through this .
  4. Im waiting to get the band too . 1st appt is tomorrow. im 403lbs and was told to go with the bypass to lose fast. Im sdtill going lapband its not permanant and if you have complications it can be removed. Also alot of people talk about how much they want to lose with the band . But really if it gets rid of say 100lbs. It would be so much easier to work out harder and stay motivated to do more to lose more faster. Thats how im looking at it . I hope it helps .
  5. Thanks this should help alot when i go for my first appt tomorrow .
  6. thanks that helps . I just worry about the erossion from the band down the line . He basically said the band is cheap to put in but if you have to have it removed due to complications such as errosion and lose your insurrance you loosing at a $25-40K+ bill
  7. anyone had the erossion issue with the band? The doc at the seminar said it usually happened after a few years if it was left in. I just dont know if I can afford to take it out when that time comes .
  8. I initialy started this quest to get the lapband. I went to the seminar and It kinda scares me . The main thing was that they said alot of people have erosion from it and most are later on when you may not have the insurance to cover it . They also said that since at that time I was 403 lbs that I was a better canidate for bypass. IN the last 3 weeks I lost the 20lbs I had to lose to qualify and have my first appt . on the 23rd. Im worried about going bypass due to it not being reversable . Please give me some input . I have My 1st appt . tommorrow .
