  1. Picked up a new protein shake mix after trying a similar one at the Dr.'s office. It is delicious!!!! 4EVERFIT Fruit Blast the Ilsoslate TROPICAL MANGO. 24 grams protein, 1gram carb, 100 calories The vitamin shop has single serving sizes to try them out before you buy a big tub. Even my 8 year old liked it. Good conversation and alot of learning the other night at my support group meeting. If you need something "Chewy" you can make like jello jigglers with the SF Jello, and the Dr. even suggested putting unflavored gelatine into the shakes and refridgerating-makes them like a mousse or so he said. Haven't tried it yet but will let you know when I do. Does anyone know how to update your weight on the weight ticker?? I am down a pound and proud of it. TTYL Have a great day all!!
  2. Best of luck today and all the days of your new life!! Looking forward to my surgery next month.
  3. I agree with the above. I had the same PMD for over 15 years-he just told me I was fat and to go on a 1000 calorie a day diet and loose weight. Woouldn't even run any tests. Guess what-CHANGED DOCTORS had tests run-I am anemic, have a non-functioning thyroid with a tumor on it, am borderline diabetic and have insufficient D3 and Vit C levels. Best thing I ever did was change doctors. My doctor is very supportive of my decision to have the lap band done-as long as I continue with the follow-up visits post-op. Find someone out there who will help you. Best of luck.
  4. We have Blue Cross/Blue Shield WNY thru the county of Erie. It was less than a week for me. I did make sure that all their criteria were met prior to the Dr. sending in the authorization request. My PMD is wonderful and wrote a great letter also. Best of luck
  5. Angela, Welcome, I just joined recently and it is wonderful the support and answers to question you can find here. You were banded on my actual BD. My band is scheduled for 3/31, awaiting the start of my new life. Best of luck to you as you continue your journey. Celeste
  6. I picked up Whey Tech Pro Isolate Chocolate from the Vitamin Shoppe. It is really good. Have mixed alittle peanut butter (1tbsp) and it really does taste like a Reese's PB cup, even plain it is really good. 100 calories, 0 fat, 2 carbs, 24 grams protein
  7. When I go to my support group tonight I am going to ask about Knox gelitine-I know that you can make like a hard jello that you can actually chew. I wonder if you make it with sugarfree jello if it is ok? It has no flavor on its own although it does have 25 calories per serving.
  8. Going to my first support group meeting tonight. My DH even changed his work schedule so that I can attend. I keep telling him to look out more Overtime is going to be coming his way due to the fact I will need a new wardrobe soon. Now off to the gym before the kids get up. Gosh I really hate this mid-winter break - it messes up my morning routine. Have a good day everyone!!
  9. Thanks Journeygirl. I am seeing Dr. Pham at Synergy Bariatrics. Will have you in my thoughts and prayers on Tues. that is the day of my first support group meeting. I live in Hamburg if you need anything or we can just get together to talk and support each other. It definately sounds like we have alot in common.
  10. My date is March 31. I have what they are calling a "liver reduction diet" High Protein shakes, crystal light, popsicles, starting on my son'g birhtday!!!! I have tried the shakes already-taste pretty good, not the nightmare of taste that Slimfast and Optifast are so I am told. Best of luck to everyone!!
  11. Stephanie-we have the same surgery date!!!! I am scared but ready. I start my "liver reduction diet" on 3/17-my son's 9th Birthday -no cake for me. But a new life on its way!!
  12. Hi Everyone-this is my very first post on this site. I decided for my 40th birthday I would give myself a new life and have a lap band done-guess who just turned 45? I have been dieting I think since my age was in the single digits. I am scared but finally ready. I received my letter of medical necessity, have my surgery scheduled for March 31 and I am really ready to start my new life. Scared but ready. I have 2 boys that are the love of my life and I want to see them grow up and be able to enjoy things with them. It has really been great to see all the support that everyone gives each other here. So before I start to cry again, I had better end here and keep looking forward to the future.
