Hi everyone: So my preop diet is set to begin on February 14, 2011 and my doctor has asked me to do slimfast however, I am confused about whether i should be just drinking the 4-6 shakes period or this new 3 Snacks, 2 shakes, 1 light meal diet slimfast is currently promoting...can anyone help me with this? hi all! I am scheduled for my surgery on March 1, 2011 and my doctor warned me that the day of surgery, they give me a blood test to test for nicotine, if for some reason its in my system he will NOT perform surgery. I have been a smoker for 20 years with only a few hours without a cigarette and mostly because i had no choice because i was on an airplane...I have to admit, this surgery is THAT important to me, that I started Chantix and can't begin to tell you that even though quitting smoking is the HARDEST thing i have ever had to do in my LIFE next to having this surgery, I have been smoke free for 10 days. Chantix works!!!! you don't want to go through any problems like ulcers and pneumonia from not quitting smoking. Being a smoker who didnt really WANT to quit but had no choice to because of the surgery, I recommend trying the chantix before u go under anesthesia...

Hi everyone! I am new to the site. I recently got approved for the lapband by my insurance company and am awaiting my surgery date. When visiting my doctor, he asked me which band I preferred, the Realize or the Lapband. I wanted to know if any of you know the difference? I have more questions but I figured I would start with this one and see how the responses come before I ask anymore. Thanks.

Hey there Ms. Violinist! Dr. Meihlan is my surgeon...I just had a few questions for you regarding your experience. I just got approved January 18 and have yet to get my surgery date. I just wanted to know what to expect, did Dr. Soriano request that you do the slim fast liquid diet like Dr. Meihlan did me? The truth is, I am getting the lapband to avoid back surgery and although I am not as overweight as most people who have been approved for the surgery (im 5"0 200 pds) I just wanted to know what to expect after surgery with weight loss?
