I was just wondering how long it takes to get approved and actually get the surgery? I am meeting with my doctor on the 28th to start the process but I am still clueless on how long it takes and if I will even qualify. I've read some other peoples q&a's and I have some of the dame concerns with that I am not 100lbs over weight but I weigh 198 and I am only 5'0ft so would this meet qualifications??

Hi, My name is Larissa and I recently have been looking into lapband because for years I have been dealing with my weight and not being able to lose it. I finally consulted with my mom since mother knows best and we decided that maybe lap band was the best option. I'm seeing the doctor in two weeks to decide if this is the right decision for me. I just wanted to come here so I could get to know more about lap band from people who have actually experienced it. My biggest concern is if I will even qualify for it. I have read the general qualifications but It scares me because I feel like this is my last chance to get where I want to be and what if it doesn't happen? I'm glad I found this website because I feel like I can talk to y'all and get a lot of insite! Thanks!
