  1. Hey January newbies! I was banded on 01/06/11 and am totally new to the whole blogging concept. Today is the first day that I haven't had to suffer through the constant hunger pangs. I've done pretty good on the 1st week Fluid only part. Was eating tomato Soup this past week without andy trouble. Even though they said it needed to be liquid - I also had cream of chicken. My husband would just strain the veggies/noodles from chicken noodle and I drink the broth - then at least it had flavor without me having to doctor it. Today is the first day I started mush/soft foods. Had cream of wheat for BF, tried skim milk but was too full after the cream of wheat to finish it. I've had cabin fever so today I was able to get out. I had mashed pots/gravy for dinner and lunch today. What are some mushy soft foods you all are starting to eat? Looking for some variety as well as not too high in calories/fat, etc. I didn't have any Protein shakes today - but I am not feeling too much of that starving pain. Looking forward to continuing this journey with the January Newbies! What are your chief complaints so far? Also what are you enjoying so far?
  2. Ashley: I too was banded on 01/06/11. I bought the bulk fiber one from costco. It works like a charm. Don't worry you'll get back to regular soon. I just started noticing that I don't have that constant hunger pain in my gut today. I fear that people would say that it was "head hunger". I say nonsense to that! I totally know what it feels like to be hungry and have hunger pangs - and I was starving - even with getting the 60 g's of Protein via my Protein shakes. How have you been feeling since your surgery?
  3. I too am starving. I was banded on 01/06/11. I seem to be doing a little better today, but still feel that hunger pang. I also had really bad gas mostly in my chest that seems to have subsided and is much better today.
  4. Right now it's 48 in Mesa, AZ with the high to be 66 - ahhh this is why I live here!!
  5. I have done Zumba and I LOVED it! Don't worry about not being perfect - take it from a perfectionist - it really doesn't matter what you do or how well you do it. Just let go and get into it - even if you feel like you have no rhyme or rhythm. Even if you never get each and every move down pat - just be in the moment and be glad that you were willing to try something that may be out of your comfort zone. No one really cares weather you are getting it or not - just that you are there. Sure the instructor might say eventually you will - but the important thing to remember is that you may (and you may not) - but if you let go and just enjoy you will be fine. If you love to dance - and clubbing isn't your game - then this class is for you. Hope you try it and love it!
