    Is it safe for Rheumatoid Arthritis patients to have lap band surgery? I am 58 years old and have been diagnosed with RA since the age of 34. I need to lose 50-60 pounds and been unable to do so, as the exercise required to do so is impossible for me. If I eliminate taking Ibuprofen, would the lap band procedure be safe?
