I just got approved with Tricare after the 4th denial. They used BMI and Met life ideal weight and a life threating condition. Whew..was a long process. I have been fighting them for 6 months but my surgery date in the 21st.. Hang in there and yes, it might take a few months but hopefully it will be worth it..
I was denied for being 5 lbs too thin from Tricare. I went to my first appt and weight was fine then went to the dietian and she started me on a diet..I lost abou 15 lbs. THEN..I went to my dr exam and the insurance company wont accept any weight before my dr exam. This is screwed up. I have another appointment in a couple of weeks and hope to have gained 5 lbs back and we hope to reapply!
I too am on Tricare insurance. I'm just starting this process so I have no idea if they will approve although, I'm at 40 bmi with an artificial hip and knee issues along with high blood pressure and high cholestrol numbers. I am 58 years old and can only hope I will be approved. Next appointment is Thursday the 13 with the wellness clinic. Any help with TRICARE issues will be appreciated!
