Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

its been ages since i've been on. i was quite fed up really. I went through a clinic called cosmedico to have the surgery. basically its like an agent that puts you in touch with CDB instead of going directly which i should have done. Had surgery in early Jan had a fill in feb and then cosmedico couldn't organise a fill for me. i was in for one then they cancelled it and then they scheduled one for a few weeks later telling me that the all the earlier time slots were taken. anyway got the fill about 2 weeks ago went from 3 mls to 5 and wow what a difference! it has i could only drink liquids for 2 weeks now it has loosened a bit and fred said one more fill should do it for me. strange thing is when i went to get the fill in cosmedico they told me they are no longer running the clinic that its now going to be run in the city centre where i think their main clinic is, and i can't even make appts via cosmedico just direct with fred, so i am suspicious the Dr chris is severing his ties with the clinic which wouldn't suprise me. anyway had my fill which is working now and even happier not to have to deal with my useless agent. Anyone who is thinking of having the surgery..its much easier to go direct to Dr Chris..skip the agent/clinic cos you only end up paying more. €3000 more to be exact you learn through these mistakes i guess! glad to see everyone has been doing well x

Oh hon your gp sounds like a right b*tch...some people can be so nasty!! she obviously has a problem. switch gps. You don't need that. you are doing something positive and she may be just resentful and jealous. don't let the likes of her knock you. you are doing so well xx

Sara great to have you back yes it hurts but is worth it. I went on my own too and it would be handy to have someone to carry the bag after etc. But hey you are home now i stayed on liquids for about 10 days. which consisted of yogurts, petit filous, soups, smoothies, and ice lollies. after a few days i started on baby "liga" they kinda disslove in your mouth and have turned to liquid before you swallow. After the two weeks i added scrambled eggs and soft food like spagetti hoops baked beans, but everyone is different these went down fine for me but you will have to be your own judge. take it slowly though cos when you hit one of those foods that don't pass easily you know all about it for instance i tried soft tuna in brine, which i thought would be soft and pass easily WRONG oh so very wrong lol...not wanting to be a quitter i tried tuna another day and same thing. for me even the smallest bit of soft tuna blocks the band so its a definate no no for me. but everyone is different some things i can eat others can't and vice verse...its a real learning experience and listening to your body.

hi i am still waiting to have my first fill. i find i'm hungry now and can nearly eat as normal i can eat brown bread and laughing cow cheese spread for breakfast salads for breakfast and noodles and veg for dinner. i can't eat meat that just blocks the band and causes pain even when i eat something that doesn't agree i still feel hungry i know when you have your fills esp after the second one you can only eat very little but do you still feel hungry?

Oh you poor thing! At least you are home . I took soluble solphadeine when i got home, or theres a soluble panadol in the chemist too now. but be careful if you have allergies. have you taken either of these before cos if you have and didn't react they should be ok. anyway take it easy and if you have alot of tightness suck some ice pops. the cold will take down some of the swelling glad you are back xx

Hi sara i had high blood pressure too. once they put you on a pill it will bring it down don't worry. also to assess it properly you would need a 24 hour monitor. sometime people visit a dr or nurse and have high blood pressure and when the leave it goes down. its called "white coat" bloodpressure, basically you get stress when you go to a dr and it goes up my blood presure is normal 120/80 but as soon as i see my dr it goes through the roof lol. see what your dr says don't panic yet ..you'll only worry and send it up more!

Hi sara I didn't know about the pre op diet so i hadn't done one ..oops. In fact i went on the 10th of Jan so was finishing off all the christmas food! any wonder i needed the op lol I was the same...how has it come to this? but i don't eat all the time cos i'm hungry either i was a terrible emotional eater...but any emotion really! but now i can't do it thats the thing. bread is i think most of our downfalls! but i went out to lunch last week and had soup and a little crust off some brown bread...that's it you can still indulge but tiny bits no eating 6 or 8 slices of white killer bread. also cos you have to be careful when you go back eating you eat very slowly. Today I had a bit of omelette and my sister was finished hers and i was still there another 15 mins picking my tiny bites and chewing them for ages you dont have to do slimfast before. i think they recommend a low fat diet. just try your best. I only had slimfast after because you'll be on liquid diet after and at least slimfast has some good nutrients in it...even though its not the nicest tasting. you won't be hungry after your surgery but should try drink something like that keep the vits up

You'll be fine. are you going alone or bringing someone with you? I'm 2 weeks since my op now and can hardly believe i was only 2 weeks you are sore the first day btu then its not bad at all. if you are sore ask for painkillers. they put up a little magic drip that kills the pain and helps you fall asleep i was sitting in the hotel watching indiana jones the following day and now 2 weeks later i'm a stone down ...yay good luck will be thinking of you x

Hey i'm good. i started a bit of mushy diet. scrammbled eggs are fine and i would have thought a bit of fish would be ok really soft and in a sauce but it just blocks straight away! being not the quitter i tried it again and same thing. horrible feeling stabbing pain not sure if thats the same as you're having or not. i'm hoping not to repeat the experience. so sticking to yougurt, liga (baby food), soup and eggs, dunno what to mush up next. smoothies are nice. they are coffee are my new going out treat. i have also managed to keep my op a secret....so far anyway lol i still have my stich couldn't get off work to make an appointment, and didn't have a little stich remover here, so today i get rid of that keep in touch Val

for anyone trying to contact frederick the person i booked through was talking to me today and Frederick is on sick leave at the moment. he crashed his car leaving work last wed he's fine just very bruised. but i'm sure he'll get back to you when he is back
  20. Hi I was done just before you on the 11th. was uncomfortable until today. i slept on my side from early on, my right side that is. My port is on the left. what i do is i lie on the right side and put a pillow under my tummy to support it (thus my flabby tummy can't all drag to the side and pull the port area) works gret and have a great nights sleep. i can't sleep on my back at all. also if you are having alot of tightness from the band suck ice lollies or even some ice. the cold ice take down some of the inflammation good luck hun I am just after realising ...I have a port side...like a ship lol

    Regret?

i was banded on the 11th. (6 days ago) i lay in theatre while they hooked me up to this and that thinking ...what the hell are you doing. honestly i felt like up and running there and then with my gown flapping open behind me. i was so scared and just i think had they not knowed me out i would have been gone. when i woke up in recovery so sore and feeling rotten i immediately regreted it. its a sore op to have. but by even 11 that night i was starting to feel a bit better. there were 6 of us having the op the same day and we all woke up with regrets. the surgeon met us all the next day and said "right about now you are all having regrets, don't worry about that it it's normal and will pass. You are right now suffering the a surgical hangover. you're sore tired and some may still feel sick." he went on to say once the initial pain goes and you start seeing the weight coming off you'll be happy you did it. already my regrets are going. I wish i was one of those people who could lose weight and keep it off but i'm not. i'll lose the weight and it comes back with more. This is my way of keeping my weight off long enough to getinto a proper eating routine. lose the weight and keep it off. my bloods sugar is already starting to rise and my spec says if i don't lose wgt i'll have diabetes soon and once you are down that road....its the more serious things like heart disease.. I can't even say health alone though. I have not felt good about myself in a long time. I hate the way i look.I have no confidence. when i go out i feel everyone is looking at me thinking how big i am. if i could get my confidence back and feel better and healthier inmyself i think that alone will be worth it xx

Day 6 - adventures in banding nearly a week post surgery and doing fine now. still quite restricted and not very hungry but managing yogurt and cuppa soups and a tiny bit of sugar free jelly. was back in work today and it was fine. injection finished today too Chris did say the lap band can set off the metal detector at the airport and sure enough it did. but i must look honest and they just let me through no search at all. one of the girls who had had the band done some time back said sometimes they set off the security alarms in the shops. She said hers always triggers the alarm in "Next" so armed with my internal band i hit the shops during lunch so far so good. i tried "Next" and debenhams and the local chemist and so far no alarm ....maybe there's still too much fat insulating the little bit of titanium inside me. So first week nearly over. I'm feeling good. Just a little discomfort at times more like an achy muscle or like the scars are tightening. But the good thing is i have neither been arrested by airport or store security so its looking up

hey how are you. Val here. how are you doing. i was fine as soon as i got home. i was worried about the flight but when i got home i dropped the case and drove down to the shop for some liquids and had a nice shower. felt fine after that. M suggested using ice lollies to take away some of the swelling if you suck them it takes the tightness away and i found them great i have to say. have to say i have very little pain just a little discomfort and the painkiller they gave takes that away. if you are not up to going back to work monday don't risk injuring yourself..it's not worth it i'm going in on mon but i have a desk job and if i am struggling will take a day off mid week. but yours is is a heavy job and he did say if it is to take up to 3 weeks V
