  1. I was banded on 12/2/10. Unfortunately my insurance wouldn't cover the surgery, but since I had a Hiatal Hernia, they covered half of my surgery. First time in my life where I had ever wished for something to be wrong so that I could get another procedure partially paid for! As of yesterday, I have felt pretty good. Just a little tired. I had a gas bubble in my should for a couple of days that I thought was going to kill me!! If I knew getting a long needle and poking it in there to pop it would have worked I would have done that! Luckily now that pain is gone and I only have a little soreness in the incision where they inserted the lap band and port. I was doing really good on the liquid diet and yogurt until Wednesday night. I was so hungry for something different. So, I cooked me a sweet potato and mashed up half of it really good. I wasn't able to finish that whole half, but I did it it really slow and everything went really well. I wasn't uncomfortable at all. Matter of fact, I heated up the second half last night. So, this morning it is back to my Protein shake and my yogurt. I have lost 9 pounds now and am so excited! I am so glad that I had this surgery! So glad I found this site. I have really enjoyed reading all the stories! Have a good day everyone! Kathleen
