  1. I have been thinking about going through the lap band procedure for the past several years. Type II diabetes is common in my family and when my father was in his 40's he was diagnosed with type II and in '96 he had a massive stroke. I have no insurance to help me fund the procedure and will finance through a lender. What type of tests will I have to go through before I can have the surgery done and why? My height is 5'8" and weigh 450 pounds and I'm 30 yrs old.
