  1. My surger pre-op is tomorrow and I had a call from the hospital today to get some information. During the call I was told that the doctor has requested a room for me to stay overnight. Of couse she didn't know why. I will see the dr for pre-op instructions tomorrow afternoon but I'm worried about why he'd arrange for me to stay overnight for outpatient surgery. I am diabetic and on insulin....could that be why? Anyone else have to stay overnight and why?
  2. I am getting banded on the 16th! Pre-op and final Dr appt is in 2 days on the 8th. I will be put on liquid diet at that time but I'm not sure yet what that entails. My biggest fear about surgery -my liver being too large for surgery My greatest concern after surgery - my blood sugar dropping too low (I'm insulin dependent type 2 diabetic) What I am looking forward to - 1. Not taking insulin shots anymore! 2) Not living my life around food! I want to have a life......food will no longer be the event but rather what I need to do and event Good luck to everyone and feel free to chime in and tell me your experiences. I'm new to this post so doing lot's of reading right now.
  3. I have Aetna as well and it took a couple of weeks for approval. They kept requesting more information but finally approved.
  4. Best wishes with your surgery Friday! Mine is next Thursday so I'll be following your experiences.
  5. This is my first post. My surgery is scheduld for December 16th and my pre-op visit at the hospital is December 8th. The closer it gets the more nervous I am. What can I expect at the pre-op appointment? Thanks in advance for your answers!
