  1. Has anyone had the lap band with a BMI of only 28.5? I'm 43, I also have several comorbidities, hypertension for the past 16 years, since I was 27, severe GERD, lost and regained the same 10-30+ pounds over the last 10 + years, and am sick of the rollercoaster. Tried every diet/RX out there without success. I am self pay, just looking for an MD (good one) willing to band someone like me. I want to lose 45 # and get back to the weight I was when I married, and be able to keep up with my 2 year old twins, ironically I have lost all the preg weight, but was overweight when I got pregnant. I don't want to have to gain 10 or 20# to get the band. Not that I have'nt been there at least 2-3 times in the last decade, but it doesn't make sense to gain weight with my blood pressure in order to qualify. HELP ANYONE. Thanks a million.
