I am 51 and was banded March 5, 2011. I have lost 35lbs. If I can do it anyone can.

I drink 1 cup of prune juice a day and since I started that I have had no problems.

OMG that is super fantastic. I had my surgery on 3/8/11 and have lost 31 lbs. I can't wait until I hit your mark. You are an inspiration.

I am wondering the same thing. I have the same question. I can drink 16 oz of Water in 15 minutes. Is this going to stretch my pouch?

I was told to take a shower every day and wash mine with soapy water. I had steri strips over them and my doctor took mine off at the one week appointment.

I am being banded on the 8th. Less than I week away. Thanks for the tip on how to get the ticker. It worked for me. I have wanted to add one.

Wow, what a lot of replies. I didn't expect that many. I live in an at will state. I will be able to collect unemployment. I did not like where I was working so the firing was a blessing in desquise. I will be going on my husbands insurance as soon as mine runs out and they do cover the lap band. So I will be covered for the fills.

I am being banded on the 8th also. I started my preop diet on Tuesday and have lost 10 lbs since I weighed in in November. My home scale wont weigh me so I don't know what I was when I started my preop diet. Today I had a chest xray, EKG, blood gasses andblood drawn two times. I had to drink this sickly sweet stuff in between.I have my preop exam and physical with my PCP next week and then I will be ready to go. FINALLY!!

I found out why I was fired. My company is downsizing. 4 people from my department was laid off. Now that I know that I feel better. My insurance goes throught March so I will be covered. Now I just need to find a new job. I am going to start sending out resumes today. The layoff was really a blessing in disquise. I have not been happy for the last 3 years.

Today when I arrived at work I sent an e-mail to my boss that I am having surgery on March 8th and would be off work for two weeks. This afternoon I was called in to his office and written up. Then they gave me papers to end my employment with them. I will be done on Febuary 25th. My insurance will end on March 31st. Can you belive that!! I am not sure what to do now.

Does anyone have BCBS Iowa. Do you know what there requirements are for getting lap band?

Does anyone have blue cross blue shield alliance select of Iowa. How quickyly did they approve your surgery? Did you have any things that you had to do before they would approve?
