  1. Ok i was banded Feb.7, 2011. Since day of surgery I lost a total of 9 stinking pounds. I am at 6.5 cc's as of today. I eat right and excerise. I walk or bike ride approx 3-4 days a week. I eat lots and lots of Protein and i am not eating as much as i used to. i don't eat junk food and i don't eat fast food. i want to cry right now. went to my fill apt today and they are no help. Nurse gave me 0.5cc today and i still dont feel a thing. How is this even possible????? they say this is not a "DIET" well...i have to treat it like it is cause if i went on with my life and let the band take over, i'd be gaining by now
  2. it is so strange. what do you think being sick has to do with food?
  3. So i am sick today...like a head cold or something. Since i have been feeling under the weather - i can not keep anything down. not even soup. i feel my band tighter today - i feel like its in my throat. i took a few bites of breakfast and had the worst puking episode i've had since being banded (over 2 months ago). WHAT GIVES?????
  4. hold out a few weeks and you will feel much better. honestly, i am 7 wks post op and i feel like i can eat everything. so i have the opposite problem. just follow the liquids, you dont wanna stretch your pouch and see where you are at in a few wks. you have no idea what will happen. TRUST ME. it changes to much its not even funny and if you REALLY hate the band, have your Dr take all of the fluid out. after all of your swelling goes down, and you have no fluid, you might eat the same as you did before the surgery. its a bumpy road!!!
  5. I"M WITH YOU!!!!! i was banded Feb. 7th and i feel exactly the same way. the only restriction i feel is when i eat meat. other than that, i am almost as hungry as i was before surgery. I am sure when we get fills, things will be different. i get filled the 23rd of march. I CANT WAIT. hang in there. i find that when i do the right things, like - eat small bites and chew chew chew, i eat less then half of what i used to eat.
  6. mid 3rd week...on mushies...but can have like tuna, chopped meat, etc. i can go back to soups no problem but i over eat liquids. i'm just so sad right now and i have horrible shoulder and rib pain....ahhhhhhhhhhhh
  7. mid 3rd week...on mushies...but can have like tuna, chopped meat, etc. i can go back to soups no problem but i over eat liquids. i'm just so sad right now and i have horrible shoulder and rib pain....ahhhhhhhhhhhh
  8. hiccups and burping, then slimy clear stuff, then puke it back up. It is quite disgusting and i am frustrated because of it.
  9. I can not get the hang out this chewing 20-30 times and only eating small bites. i dont know what my problem is but i am still shoveling food in and i regret it 5 mins later. i puked two times today and once yesterday. when i eat only liquids, i over eat and consume to many calories a day. i am really upset and frustrated and scared i am going to screw something up with my band.
  10. I would like someone to answer my post. thanks
  11. So i started soft, mushy foods this weekend. a few things have gotten stuck. IT WAS A HORRIBLE FEELING. so, i am scared and going back to liquids for the most part. When things get stuck this early, can it hurt me? does it stretch out my stomach or mess up my stitches inside??????
  12. it probably wont hurt you but the BEST thing you can do is really stick to the pre-op diet and suffer like the rest of us! You will understand why you MUST stick to it after you get banded. I lost 13 lbs on pre-op diet!!! If you can't do the pre-op diet, then you shouldn't get banded. TRUST ME, this part is the easy part, then having the surgery is easy to...its after surgery that is the hard part. FOLLOW THE DIET! sorry, but i have faith you can do it!!!!! I just did it 3 wks ago. with no cheating! SOME TIPS: (if you can have these - i was allowed) sugar free strawberry Jello layered with Sugar free and fat free cheese cake pudding! Freeze your favorite fat free yogurt! (i love dannon light and fit - carmel flavor) Tomato Soup and pea soup SAVED ME! Your Protein drinks - blend them with other flavors, add some fat free/low fat vanilla yogurt - it adds thickness and sweetness to them, EAT EVERY 2-2.5 hrs, IT REALLY HELPS!
  13. had my surgery two wks ago...i had a rash on my torso...itchy red bumps - turns out i was allergic to the orange stuff they serilized my belly with. no biggie. call you Dr if it gets worse, i am sure it ill go away but it takes time. 2 wks and i still have a little, and you can not but anything on it.
  14. I feel your pain. i was banded a almost two wks ago and i am STARVING all of the time. Today i had a spoon fill of tuna, which i am not supposed to have until next wk. i felt guilty and i am trying my hardest to stick to the program. I know it has to be frustrating for you - cause i'm only two wks out and its hard for me. Stay focused and drink your protein shakes and lots and lots of water. I need some encourgment as well. i am HUNGRY and i am tired of pudding, soup and yogurt.
  15. u think? but the night isnt over and i'm gonna be hungry again!
