5-weeks Post-Op and not really losing
Thanks everyone! I guess I should clarify, since I've been on solid foods I've only lost 2lbs. In reality since the liquid diet and surgery I've lost over 20lbs. I was just hoping once the solid foods came in the picture I would still be losing more weight. Guess that's probably asking for too much.

Scared
We were all scared and that is absolutely normal. I was banded June 30th and even though I've only lost about 5lbs since surgery, I feel better than I have in 2years. Best of Luck to you!!

5-weeks Post-Op and not really losing
I am 5-weeks Post-op today and I really haven't lost but about 5lbs, I am watching what I eat and my calorie intake. I go back August 17th for my first fill and so afraid they will be upset with me not losing anymore than I have. I did start exercising about 2-weeks ago, going to the gym 4x per week. Is this normal not to lose a whole lot of weight until you get a fill? I have no problem eating just about anything, but do notice I can't eat as much as I used too.

Feeling weird...

Food/Calerie Counter
Can anyone tell me a good website to be able to keep track of my food I'm eating that will count the calories?? I thought I could access one here, but am having a hard time finding it.

Last Supper
I also had steak that my husband made!! I had surgery June 30th and had steak again a few days ago and didn't have any problems, but I don't go for my first fill until Aug 17th. I'm sure I won't be able to after that! Good Luck to you!

Post Op
I burped and burped and burped, not to mention the gas. Are you back at work?? You really should try to rest more, or it will take longer to recover. Yes, you will feel some pressure in your stomach, in fact some pain. I was very sick for 2-weeks after surgery with nausea, but feel great now. I don't feel any different in my stomach than I did before surgery, so yes the pain and discomfort will go away.

Salad Days?
I am 4-weeks out and have started eating salad. I have no problem at all, however I have not got my first fill yet. I also cut up cucumbers and tomatoes with a little dressing, when I don't feel like the lettuce and other things in a salad.

Swimming after lap band surgery
I had to wait 2-weeks before swimming, once the incisions have healed. The doctor removed my butterfly tape on my 2-week post-op visit and said I could resume swimming. Good luck!

3rd day post op
My 3rd day post op is when I really starting feeling worse than better. I had really bad gas, but kept Gas x near by and took it as much as the package said I could. My biggest problem was nausea, which lasted for almost 2-weeks. Best of Luck to you!

What habits should I break now?
The first time you drink a soda, I guarantee you won't ever do it again. I drank Sprite about 4 days after surgery and thought I was going to die, needless to say I haven't touched anything with carbonation since. I haven't had my first fill yet, and know once I do I won't be able to eat nearly the things I do now like salad, cucumbers, etc. If you chew gum and you swallow it by accident, it could cause you lots of problems because it won't be able to go through the opening of the stomach. I have heard that sometimes it requires them to go down and get it out. Good Luck with your adventure!

New from Delaware
Hey there, I also live in Delaware! Welcome, you will find the forum very helpful and inspirational in your journey. My seminar was October 2010 and my first dr appointment was in November. Because of insurance requirements and due to the hospital not acquiring their "Center of Excellence" in time for my first surgery date of May 27th, I finally had my surgery done June 30th, 2011. Hope your process goes well, it really does go very fast. Just have friends and family around to support you! Best of luck!

Much relieved!
Best of Luck to you!! It took me 2-weeks to finally recover, I suffered from a lot of nausea and felt like crap until the 2-week mark. Others haven't had this problem, so hopefully you won't either. I also had to suffer the first 20-hours after they released me from the hospital with NO pain meds. The doctor that wrote the RX was a med student was not authorized to right pain meds outside the hospital, needless to say my doctor was not happy because he ended up having to go through a special 800 number and the DEA to get me an RX because I'm 2-hours away from him. It was not fun, but made it through and just thankful its all good now. Good luck!

Day one with the lap band
Best of Luck to you! I was banded June 30th and it took me a full 2-weeks to feel normal. I had a lot of nausea, which was horrible and made me regret my decision. Now that I'm feeling much better, the regret has also past.

I think I need a fill already!
I have not problem with anything I'm eating. I am watching what I eat, but I can eat a good cup to cup 1/2 of anything I eat at one sitting. Is this normal? The scales are moving in the wrong direction and I'm only 3-weeks post-op!!

What am I doing wrong??
Yes most all require a 6 month diet. Or they may accept your PCP or if you've been going to a Gym for the past 6 months. I started my process at the end of October 2010 and just had my surgery Jun 30th. I can honestly say it goes by very quickly. There are a lot of clearances you have to get before they will do the surgery too. Of course these were all things my insurance company demanded.

What am I doing wrong??
Hey there!! I have Conventry Insurance. I started to see Dr. Brebia at Eden Hill Medical Center and was suppose to have surgery May 27th, however because Milford Memorial had not acquired their "Center of Excellence" I had to switch doctors and ended up going to Baltimore.

What am I doing wrong??
Went back to the doctor last Wednesday for my 2-week Post Op visit and had lost 22lbs. I was very excited, but now that I'm eating real close to solid foods I got on the scale this morning and it was up 7lbs. I have been staying away from bread, starches and just eating veggies and a little fruit. I have also ate some beans and meat to get my protein in. I haven't even been getting 1,000 calories day in, which is much less than I was eating before. I'm just stumped and can't figure out what I've done wrong. A friend had it done about 2 months before me and she's already lost 70lbs. Please help me get on the right track, because apparently I'm not doing something right.

Is it normal to feel Nauseated???
Thanks everyone!! My doctor's appointment is tomorrow, so hopefully I'll at least know nothing major is wrong.

Is it normal to feel Nauseated???
I had my band on June 30th and I have had a terrible time feeling nauseated. I don't throw up anything I drink, and was suppose to do 2-weeks of liquid after the surgery, but yesterday decided to scramble some eggs, which I kept down. I am so tired of feeling sick to my stomach. Has anyone else experienced this??
