  1. I was banded on March 1. I am in the same situation. I lost 6 lbs on the pre-op diet. Then I lost 8 lbs the first week after my surgery. In the last 2 weeks, I have only lost 1 lb. I get my first fill on Friday. I think this is normal. Frustrating, but normal.
  2. I've had a c-pap for several years. It took me close to a year to get used to the idea of wearing it. I found that cutting my hair and having the mask loose helps. If I have the mask on too tight, I can't sleep with it. I have it just barely tight enough to keep the seal. Now I find it comforting. There are still nights that it will bug me however. Once you get used to it, you will realize how much better you sleep.
  3. Thanks everyone for this post and the answers. I was banded on Tuesday (Mar. 1) and at first there was just some soreness - no nausea or anything. I also had a hernia that they fixed. Then WHAM - yesterday after drinking a protein shake, I thought I was going to puke. I have been nauseated and having occasional dry heaves every since. I was freaking out because after all, aren't you supposed to be getting better? Not worse. Now I know that it is normal and just wait it out. It isn't very much fun, but at least I'm not worried like I was.
  4. I have had an ulcer and was told by my doctor that you can have lap band with an ulcer, but not the sleeve or gastric by-pass. I am waiting for insurance approval right now.
