Purchasing Insurance?

I am thinking about purchasing a policy through bc/bs, the ppo plan. I was wondering if anyone else out there has done this and if the band surgery was covered. I can't call until Monday so I thought I would see if anyone on here has done this. Also, is there a waiting period for these policies? I know some policies you have to have them for like 12mos before they will pay for a big procedure. Any info would be appreciated!!! Thanks
