I’m only 5 days post op but I’m getting stomach pain! It will go away and come back! I’m only drinking water and protein shakes rt now! Could it be the nexium? Or is the protein shake ?

I would definitely call your surgeon.

What kind of pain? Soreness, sharp burning etc? Does anything make it worse or better?

I'd for sure call your surgeon asap

I took my nexium and it feels much better. Something is definitely upsetting my stomach . It has to be the protein shakes. I’m calling my doctors office. I’ll let you know what he says.

Its a dull burning . I’ve had it a few times but maybe an hour but tonight it lasted too long.

well, doctor says I’m probably just not ready for the protein shakes . He said It sounded like I’m just still healing. Going back on clear liquids today to give my body a break.

My follow up is on Tuesday.

I'm glad you got a hold of your doc quickly. It's so strange how everyone heals at a vastly different pace. I had a pretty easy time with full liquids like protein shakes but the puree stage has kicked my butt! I can barely get in a bite or two at a time plus dealing with constipation. I hope you're feeling better soon!
