Dr. Valeriu Andrei is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with Morristown Memorial Hospital. Dr. Andrei has 16 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 23 of our members have Dr. Andrei listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Dr. Andrei started in August 1999, the Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery program, along with Dr. Brolin at St. Peter's University Hospital. Between January 2002 and January 2004 he was Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He is currently in private practice and affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and St. Barnabas Medical Center. He has performed over two thousand Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass and Adjustable Gastric Banding procedures (LapBand® and Realize®). Professional memberships: Fellow of American College of Surgeons, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgery, American Medical Association.
