About Samir Patel

Samir Patel, M.D., FACS, FASMBS, was born and raised in New York City. He attended Cornell University and graduated with a degree in biochemistry. Dr. Patel studied medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, from which he graduated with honors. He did his residency in general surgery at State University of New York at Brooklyn. After completing his residency, he did a fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and bariatric surgery. He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), American Society of Metabolic Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons (ACS), and the American Medical Association (AMA). Procedures performed by Dr. Patel: Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass Revision Surgery AtlantiCare's surgeons perform all bariatric surgeries using a minimally invasive laparoscopic approach.
