Dr. Robert Watson is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with Renown Regional Medical Center. Dr. Watson has 19 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 8 of our members have Dr. Watson listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Robert W. Watson II attended University of Nevada Reno and earned a degree in Biology. He completed medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Las Vegas and residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Watson returned to Nevada and joined Western Surgical Group. In 2000, he along with his partners founded Western Bariatric Institute. He continues to help in the battle against of obesity through comprehensive patient education and surgical weight loss options. He remains passionate about healthy lifestyle choices and ongoing education. Watson is involved in community outreach to local schools educating children about obesity and strategies of prevention. Watson is a member of the Reno Surgical Society, Washoe County Medical Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, Society of American Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgery, and American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.
