Dr. Barry Greene is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. Dr. Greene has 19 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 66 of our members have Dr. Greene listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Barry Greene, M.D., F.A.C.S. | Specializing in Bariatric Surgery, particularly AGB, Revision Bariatrics including ROSE and Band-Over-Bypass. Dr. Greene is a Bariatric Surgeon with over 15 years of experience in advanced laparoscopic procedures. He is a graduate of the University of Miami Medical School and a Wright State University School of Medicine Surgical Residency where the Academy of Medicine honored him as the Outstanding Resident of 1990. He remained on faculty at Wright State University and Wright Patterson Air Force Base developing a Laparoscopic Program until 1992 when he transferred to Andrews Air Force Base. In 1994 he joined the private practice of Drs. Sandler & Weisbaum and continued to teach residents and surgeons laparoscopic techniques. Dr. Greene began performing bariatric surgery in 2001. He has been instrumental in the development of weight loss surgery programs at several area hospitals including Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, which was recognized as a Bariatric Center of Excellence in January 2007.
