About Andrew M Averbach

I am a general and bariatric surgeon with 32 years of experience currently practicing at St.Agnes Hospital since 2002. Our Bariatric service is recognized as "Center of Excellence" by ASMBS Surgical Review Corporation. Over past 10 years we have performed over 2000 laparoscopic and open procedures without mortality and with low rate of complications. We offer Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, vertical sleeve gastrectomy and laparoscopic gastric banding(both LapBand and Realize Band) as well as revision procedures when feasible to enhance weight loss. As a Director of Bariatric & Laparoscopic surgery at the St.Agnes Hospital recognized by ASMBS as a Center of Excellence I put great emphasis on multidisciplinary approach to bariatric care, patients education, risk reduction and follow-up after bariatric surgery. Besides Bariatric surgery our practice include general, advanced laparoscopic surgery, specifically GERD/Reflux/Hiatal Hernia surgery and surgical oncology.

About this directory profile

What does a directory listing mean?

A listing helps you find practice information and member experiences. It does not establish clinical quality, current credentials, or availability.

How do I use member reviews?

Read the date and the details of each experience. Reviews are personal accounts. They do not predict your results or replace a clinical consultation.

What if a detail is missing or outdated?

Ask the practice for current information. Use “Suggest an update” on the surgeon profile to report a correction to BariatricPal.
