Keith C Chung, M.D.

Dr. Keith Chung is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with Women and Children's Hospital. Dr. Chung has 19 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 28 of our members have Dr. Chung listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Dr. Keith Chung is a graduate of Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Once completing medical school in 1993, he went on to pursue an internship and residency in general and thoracic surgery at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a Board Certified General Surgeon. Settling in Lake Charles in 1998, he has been a staff surgeon at LSU Health Care Sciences Division at W.O. Moss Regional Medical Center. In 2001 Dr. Chung opened the Comprehensive Surgery Clinic, incorporating general thoracic and now bariatric surgery. Determined to be trained in the safest and most effective procedures offered, he traveled to areas on the forefront of bariatric medicine - San Francisco, Houston and Boston. Together with a multitude of health care professionals, Dr, Chung now offers a lifelong commitment to those in need of unconventional answers to morbid obesity and its risks. Now designated as a Centers of Excellence Surgeon, Dr. Chung practices at Women & Children's Hospital, a Center of Excellence facility.
