About John S. Weaver

Dr. Weaver, a native of Colorado, is a board-certified general surgeon and is fellowship trained in bariatric surgery. Dr. Weaver completed medical school and his general surgery residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia to complete a minimally invasive and bariatric surgical fellowship at Emory University. Dr. Weaver performed over 400 minimally invasive procedures including the gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, Lap-Band® Surgery and revisional bariatric procedures. Dr. Weaver returned to Colorado in 2010, joined Western Surgical Care, and started the [b]Western Surgical Bariatric Center ([url="http://www.lapbandrockies.com"]www.lapbandrockies.com[/url] or [url="http://www.WesternSurgicalBariatricCenter.com"]www.WesternSurgicalBariatric[/url][/b][url="http://www.WesternSurgicalBariatricCenter.com"]Center.com[/url]). The multi-disciplinary team at Western Surgical Bariatric Center focuses on personalized care and individualized treatment plans for the bariatric patient.
Dr. Weaver practices as a general and advanced laparoscopic surgeon and has performed over 1000 minimally invasive surgeries including the Lap-Band® procedure, vertical sleeve gastrectomy, complex gastric resections, revisional surgeries, anti-reflux procedures and endoscopic procedures. His interests encompass the surgical approach to obesity (bariatric surgery), gastro-esophageal reflux disease, esophageal dysmotility disorders, gastrointestinal surgery and laparoscopic hernia surgery. Dr. Weaver is now the only surgeon at Rose Medical Center performing the [i]Linx[/i]® procedure for the treatment of gastro-esophageal reflux disease.
Dr. Weaver is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Colorado Medical Society, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Weaver is married and enjoys leading a very active outdoor lifestyle. He and his wife spend a lot of time biking, camping, hiking and skiing.
