Farhad Anoosh, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.M.B.S.

Dr. Farhad Anoosh is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in Patchogue NY. Dr. Anoosh has 16 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 9 of our members have Dr. Anoosh listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

After graduating from medical school with honors, Dr. Farhad Anoosh completed his general surgical training at the New York Medical College. During his residency he rotated as chief surgical resident at Weill Medical College, Cornell University. He continued his post-graduate studies by completing a minimally invasive bariatric fellowship under the supervision of nationally renown Dr. Anita Courcoulas at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he accepted the academic appointment of clinical instructor of surgery. Dr. Anoosh has performed clinical research in advanced minimally invasive bariatric surgery including single incision laparoscopic procedures, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric banding, gastric bypass, stomaphyx, and robotics. He has also trained surgical residents and actively practicing surgeons in the most current laparoscopic surgical techniques. He has published a number of peer review articles which reflect his experience with more than 350 gastric bypass and gastric banding operations. Dr. Anoosh is a recipient of the Consumer Council of America 2008 list of America’s Top Surgeons. In addition he is listed on Marquis Who’s Who in America and the World 2010 edition. In January of 2011 he joined pioneer bariatric surgeon James A. Sapala at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center to provide the latest in the laparoscopic approach for operative management of patients suffering from clinically severe obesity.
