Dr. Oluseun A. Sowemimo, (Dr. Seun) is a board-certified, fellowship-trained general, laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon specializing in minimally invasive weight loss surgery, varicose vein treatment and general surgical procedures, including diverticulitis gallbladder and hernia conditions. His private practice, Prime Surgicare, is located at 901 W. Main St., Suite 103, CentraState Medical Center, Freehold (Monmouth County), NJ. He is on staff at CentraState Medical Center and Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge, NJ. Dr. Seun is certified by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence for demonstrating a commitment to quality, safety, and a track record of favorable outcomes. Dr. Seun completed specialized fellowship training in advanced minimally invasive (laparoscopic), robotic and open bariatric surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven, CT, a 511-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the Yale University School of Medicine, renowned for excellence in patient care and top-quality medical education. He completed his general surgery internship and residency training at College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, Harlem Hospital Center, New York, where he was also appointed Chief Resident (2004 - 2005). Additionally, he earned a medical degree at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. He started surgical training at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, London, after he completed Clinical Clerkships at Kings College Hospital, London.
