About Pedro Santiago Kuri

A pioneer of the Lap-Band System in Latin America, has performed over 5,000 procedures in the last 12 years as a respected specialist in his field. Having one of the warmest bedside manners of any surgeon, Dr. Kuri is widely known for the loving care he provides his patients. He believes in the Lap Band procedure, in his patients, and is dedicated to their success. Dr Kuri currently offers three different weight loss surgery procedures. These include Lap-Band Surgery, Gastric Sleeve Surgery, and the Intragastric Balloon Procedure. Each procedure has pros and cons depending upon your weight loss goals and personal health. Dr Pedro Kuri is well known for being a pioneer of the Lap-Band System and has been doing the procedure for the past 18 years. While the Lap-Band is generally Dr Kuri?s #1 choice for weight loss, he has begun to do the Gastric Sleeve for patients with morbid obesity, and in cases where a more aggressive approach for weight loss is needed. In addition to the Lap Band and Gastric Sleeve, Dr Kuri also performs the Intragastric Balloon procedure for weight loss. Dr Kuri has been performing the Intra-Gastric Balloon procedure for many years prior to the recent approval by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Patients from the United States are now eligible for the Intra-Gastric Balloon procedure. Dr Kuri performs all surgeries himself accompanied by his surgical staff.

About this directory profile

What does a directory listing mean?

A listing helps you find practice information and member experiences. It does not establish clinical quality, current credentials, or availability.

How do I use member reviews?

Read the date and the details of each experience. Reviews are personal accounts. They do not predict your results or replace a clinical consultation.

What if a detail is missing or outdated?

Ask the practice for current information. Use “Suggest an update” on the surgeon profile to report a correction to BariatricPal.
