About Deborah Abeles

Dr. Deobrah Abeles, M.D. is board certified in general surgery. She obtained a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.D. from SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. She performed her general surgery residency at Tufts Medical Center (Boston, MA). It was during this time she became interested in bariatric and metabolic surgery. As a result, Dr. Abeles continued her training at Tufts Medical Center, where she served as a fellow in advanced laparoscopic general and bariatric surgery.



Dr. Abeles’ clinical activity focuses on minimally invasive approaches to bariatric and metabolic surgery; including laparoscopy, single incision laparoscopy, incisionless revisional surgery and endoscopic stapling devices.
