About Amy Cha

Dr. Cha is assistant professor of surgery in the division of gastrointestinal surgery at Penn Medicine. She joined the Penn Medicine faculty in 2009 after completing a fellowship in flexible endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery at the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Cha received her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. She completed her surgical internship and residency at the University of Illinois at Peoria.


Dr. Cha’s clinical interest is minimally invasive surgery, including advanced laparoscopic operations, endoscopic therapies, bariatric surgery and single incision laparoscopy.


Dr. Cha is board certified in surgery and a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
