Zane Prewitt, D.O.

Dr. Zane Prewitt is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with Community Hospital. Dr. Prewitt has 19 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 10 of our members have Dr. Prewitt listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

Facing a surgical procedure can be a difficult time for many people. I believe in keeping my patients well informed about their options and involving them in treatment selection. In 1989, I earned my M.D. from the Chicago Medical School. My residency in General Surgery was completed at the Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis. I am Board Certified in Surgery. I am also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery. I joined Advanced Healthcare in 1994 and have office hours at the Good Hope and Menomonee Falls Clinics. I have staff privileges at Community Memorial Hospital for general, vascular and weight loss (Bariatric) surgery. While I perform the full scope of general and vascular surgery, my special interest is in minimally invasive surgery. I perform advanced laparoscopic surgery for colon, hernias and esophageal disease, as well as Bariatric Surgery (By-Pass and Lap Band) and thoracoscopy for lung disease. I am also trained to perform endovascular stents for aortic aneurysms, stereotactic biopsies for breast disease and sentinel lymph node biopsy for skin or breast cancer.
