About Artun Aksade
Dr. Aksade completed a Fellowship in minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Magee-Women's Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, (2007-2008). He earned his medical degree from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey. He completed a Residency in General Surgery at Easton Hospital, Easton, PA; a Transitional-Year Residency Program at Frankford Hospital, Philadelphia, PA; and a Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Dokuz Eylul University Hospital, Izmir, Turkey.
He helped establish the Bariatric Surgery Program at Easton Hospital and was instrumental in the program being designated as a Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). This designation is a rigorous process that recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery.
Dr. Aksade is board-certified in Surgery and is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
