Toby D Broussard, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Toby Broussard is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in and affiliated with Summit Medical Center. Dr. Broussard has 16 years of experience performing Lap-Band and other weight loss surgery. Currently 52 of our members have Dr. Broussard listed as their Lap Band Surgeon.

A native of Louisiana, Dr. Broussard received his undergraduate degree in zoology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and completed his medical degree at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport.He completed his surgical training at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama, where he focused on bariatric surgery during his residency. He has since performed successful bariatric procedures on hundreds of patients.Dr. Broussard is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Carraway Surgical Society, Gulf Coast Vascular Society, Southeastern Surgical Congress, Louisiana Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), St. Landry Parish Medical Society and the Louisiana State Medical Society. He is a consulting physician for Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City and is a member of the Oklahoma Chapter of the ASMBS.
