Around 2:00 am I decided I wanted to try and sleep in the bed. It took me 15 minutes to lie down but I did it. Now getting up, took me two episodes of MASH before I could get up, and to tell the truth I was starting to panic as I did not take my cell phone into the bedroom and thought I would not be able to get out of bed because it hurt on my left side. I did not wear my CPAP machine, but snored myself awake so I knew I needed it, but it was waaaaayyyy over on the other side of the bed. Tonight I will try and get in bed on the right side instead of the left and wear my CPAP as well. Will let ya know. My drill sergeant Kim called me and told me to walk out to the mail box. I didn't think I could do it, but I did. I had one of those grabber thingies you see on TV and grabbed the newspaper without having to lean down. I had my cell phone in my pocket just in case. No, I did not give back my kitties, but they keep wanting to lay on my lap. :thumbup: I think the beef consomme is so much better than the chicken broth. Also I had some vegetable broth as well. I had to take the pain meds though, again, about 3 hours ago, I mean it still hurts, but the meds does tone it down a bit, I guess I'm more whimpy than some of you.

Been tired all day since my excursion to the grocery store. I think I'm going to bed earlier. I still can't figure out how you put tickefactory into your entries. Maybe tomorrow I will figure it out.

Begining of Week 3

Getting ready now to try some egg beaters and cheese in the microwave. I looked under my chair and there are both the kitties all curled up. Wish I could angle the camera down there! Each day is a little better, and reading everyone's posting on LAP-BAND®®®.com does help. I have another week to get my energy level back up for the night shift. And weekends are a bear, the busiest days of the week, and often we are there by ourselves. Hope my coworker doesn't take off the first weekend I am back. But I gotta get my mind set for it. I told the dietician I was going to bring lots of little foods in case I get so hungry I am stuck at work. We don't get lunch breaks, often cannot even get to the bathroom. The hardest thing has been to not drink for 30 minutes after eating- that is such a habit. - Read the Conversation

second week

Had my first post op yesterday, and PA said I needed to heal. So no fill, next visit is on 15 Oct. So I am on my own till then. My ride took me to lunch and I had pureed soup and apple juice. It was awesome. Of course my friend had to speak to the waitress and tell her not to feed me till I lost 100 pounds. This girl makes comments like that all the time. She did it one time at our table full of 10 people. Everyone just sat there shocked. I just mumbled that was not very nice and did not speak again the rest of the evening. She still thinks she is my friend. I spoke with the dietician today and told her about gettting really hungry in the evening, and it's ok to have another snack as needed. Wonderful kitties are still by my side. Filling out the paperwork for FMLA has been difficult. Getting ready to walk for 6 mins.

Day 3 Post Op

Yesterday was not a good day. I had problems keeping the pain meds down as they made me nauseous so I tried going with out them. As a consequence I was hurting, shallow breathing and on the verge of tears. I wanted to give my kitties back to the shelter as I felt I could not take care of them and check myself into a convalescent home. My case manager happened to call and advised me to try the liquid tylenol that I purchased at the hospital pharmacy. I mixed it with half a dose of the pain meds and I was able to keep it down. Around 630 PM I had my first Toot!!
