  1. :help: Hey everyone, i've been reading and reading and now my brain is wondering.... how do you know if you've stretched your pouch? I've had one fill and i've only lost 16pds since july 10th, i have had food get stuck and i've had to "blagh.." would that stretch it? i've only thrown up maybe 8 times. is that too much??? O please help me and give me some answers, I go back to the dr's in 2 more days for another fill. the first fill i had i felt like i had restriction for a couple of days, then i was back to my normal self, wasn't quite full! i am really hoping for success with my weight loss. i am working out 5 days a week for around an hour and im doing weights. should i stop the weights? i know muscle weighs more than fat... but i really just want to see those number go DOWN on the scale, not just sit still.. okay hoping for some good advice and suggestions.. i am so ready to lose this weight and its very discourging when i see the scale is not moving. my husband had to hide the scale from me because i have become to obsessive with it. (checking my weight every time i went to the bathroom! it really determined my mood for the day ) i've always had issues with my weight even when i was skinny!! okay, i think i've official gotten off the subject, so if you have some good advice, pitch in! thanks:straight
  2. great job losing the weight, but will you plan on being on optifast forever? probably not, and you have said yourself that you have yo yoed for many years. here is a chance for you to keep it off. pray about it, but i think you should still go for the band.
  3. Hey ParisAngelTX, You sound just like ME!! I had the lap band surgery on july 10,2006. I am also 5'4 ish and weighed 196 when i got the surgery done. insurance WILL NOT cover you, because they don't believe your heavy enough (trust me i know how you feel) Since the surgery I have lost 16pds but that was in the first 2 weeks while i was on liquids. i have had one fill but haven't lost any more weight. although i am not eating the amount that i had eaten before. i am working out a lot too! so needless to say i was a little disappointed.Don't get me wrong i am very HAPPY that i have the band, i just was expecting to lose more weight quicker! because i have meet people that lost 40 pds in 2 months!! but, i called my doctor yesterday and had a mini meltdown (this was a self pay and i just don't want to let myself down) thankgoodness he reassured me that everyone is different and with me working out im adding muscle..... so i still have a few more fills to go.! I totally know how you feel. it was hard for me to find a lot of people like me that weighed what i did. lots of people want to lose a hundred + pounds and i was hoping for at least 50- 60! im sorry this message is so scattered!! hope it makes some sense for you. and please contact me if i can help you with anything!
  4. Hot chocolate! Tornados or hurricanes?
  5. :clap2: My sherijo, WOW! i really don't understand why YOU are disappointed!! I had my surgery the same day as you! I've only lost 16pds and that was in the first 2 weeks! i thought that I would have lost at least 30 pds by now! You sound like your doing great! Give me some tips! i've only had 1 fill so far. Lisa
  6. WeLL, good luck to you! I am also new, just found this site today! It has been helpful for me too. I just had the band put on , July 10th, I've lost 16pds.but, i've been stuck there. I hope i do better! Lisa
  7. Hey everyone, I am new to this forum. I join the "band" on July 10, 2006. I was really excited about it. Within the first 2 weeks I had lost 16pds. Mainly because I was on liquids. Now, nearly 2 months later, I've lost NOTHING!! I have had one fill and its not that I'm hungry, I'm just not losing. I started working out 2 weeks ago, 5 days a week for an hour. I'm feeling very discouraged. I thought that I would at least be losing a pound a week. Does anyone have any advice for me? I have talked to other people and they have lost 30 pds in a couple of months. Is something wrong with me? I have another fill in October. I feel like I'm letting myself down. eventhough I have NOT been eating bad or too much. (I had a few experiences when i did not chew enough or ate too fast, thats NOT fun) well, if you have some advice or if this sounds like something that has happened to you, please send it my way! Thanks, Lisa:phanvan
