  1. I understand the concern about getting it done in one surgery! I have experienced a form of the "I need everything clean..." only I don't care if it isn't clean....I just wrote letters to my daughter and husband "Just in case." I felt a strange sense of relief after having done it and no longer thing I'm going to die but now I worry about having horrible complications that result in me skinny but very very ill and a huge burden on my family. Am I helping to cheer you up?
  2. Great! Bingcherry is in FL and is converting from LAP band to bypass on the 15th also. Go back a few pages for her post. Oops I was asking Caroline where she lives.
  3. That's awesome! Where do you live?
  4. That's my date too! We've got this!
  5. Do you have a therapist? This sounds like something you need to deal with in therapy. That will be important to your ability to succeed. Good luck on the 3rd!
  6. I had my band placed in Jan 2004 so I am also concerned about what they will find when they get in there. My dr. routinely does it in one surgery, although the other major bariatric clinic in town does it only in two. My insurance only covers one wls in a lifetime (I had different insurance when it was put in) so I am really needing to do it that way. My surgeon does not require a liquid pre-op diet, but I am going to try to do one one my own starting Sept 2nd. I go to Tampa a couple of times a year because I have family there.
  7. That's great! Where do you live? Your profile is empty
  8. I spent 6 months waiting for my insurance to change to one that covers WLS. That didn't fly by at all!
  9. Doing good. I have a LAP band and can't wait to have it out. My biggest concern is how complicated it will be to take it out. Can't wait to start my journey to thinness!
  10. Awesome! Good luck to us both!
  11. Is anyone else a LAP band to bypass patient? I'd love to connect with someone else who is having surgery around the same time. Mine is Sept 15th.
  12. I'm the 15th! Are you all doing bypass?
  13. I have RA and am taking Enbrel for it. The risk of infection from taking Enbrel worries me more than going off Enbrel does. I don't have surgery approval or a date yet, so I don't know how long my dr. will want me to be off it. I am planning to convert from a LAP Band to RNY.
