Are you aware what the purpose of the Pre op diet is prior to surgery ? its to shrink your liver to make surgery safer for you . I understand you do not know what this is all about . Laproscopic surgery , is what the lap band surgery is , So to me it makes no sense to do a surgery BEFORE lap band surgery in order for you to loose weight BEFORE a surgery for you to lose weight ? the pre op diets do not last but at the longest 2 months ? So by time you recover from this pre op diet surgery it will be time to have an other surgery ? This makes no sense to me ! I would get more info for sure. I guess this is how things get approved that are new. But this really does not make any sense at all ! I also believe that studies are normally done blindly the participants do not know or are not aware of who is doing it ? Mindy

LMAO ya gotta be careful how you respond when people ask for advice, Some newbies come here because they do not get ANY info from their docs. All it takes is for one person to tell them" go ahead eat that solids" and they will do it ! So please be careful when hading out advice. Not trying to be mean or bitchy . But She is still post op . ! She cant even have solids yet ! Call YOUR DOC And ask him when EVER in doubt ! mindy

OHH I can so relate ! I have about 45-50 pds to go before goal and someone said OH you should start looking into Plastic Surgeon's. I think i would torture myself ! how long does our surgeon want you at goal before doing surgery ? You have about 50 lbs to go right ? this last 50 pds to get off is SHEAR TORTURE ! It sounds like you have restriction to me . I personally would either not get the fill or talk to my doc about what your doing first . work on chewing well, eating slow, the whole "Rules" of the band. how big is your band ? I personally would speak to your doc . But it really sounds like you have restriction . Mindy

the best thing to do is ask your doc. "Soup" can mean a variety of things. Also docs have different opinions. If your on the mushie stage and you have tomaote soup , that is fine, But if your on mushie stage and you want Loaded Baked potatoe soup , well that's probably up for debate ?? So look at the info your doc gave you ( should have gave u ) and when in doubt ask the doc that is what you pay them for . Mindy

I agree that it MIGHT not be an issue but she is 2 weeks post op , and i always try to take liquids when ever possibly just to be safe. But like you said when in doubt ALWAYS call your doc. Mindy

I would call your doctor being 2 weeks post op . Each doc is so different that it would be best. You can always get the liquid benedryl also if he says its ok to take. HTH Mindy

You need to ask your doc about it. Some meds are ok some are not . Some can or need to be crushed some do not . So meds can not be crushed. Each doc has their own stipulations. So its best to ask them HTH Mindy

I think you just explained yourself why people might over look some not so nice qualities about a doc if a doc is as "friendly" as what you explained do you not think these docs know Obese woman dont have low self esteems ? do you not think that these docs do not know that a little sweet talk can get them a long way ????
