  1. I have been researching banding for about 1 yr. It was only the other night that I read a post somewhere that made the statement "if you are a self pay pt then you owe it to yourself to investigate the gastric sleeve as the band will really be expensive to "upkeep" after surgery with fills and visits. What made you decide to go with the sleeve if you didn't have the band first? thanks for your input.
  2. Well, I went to the consult yesterday. I was shocked that there will still be so much to pay for even if my insurance covers the surgery. I guess insurance doesn't pay for the psychological appt, counseling, nutritionist etc. I was kinda bummed about that because I have only $210 left of my out of pocket for the year and then my insurance pays 100% for everything so I went in thinking thats all I will have to pay and now thru different appt etc I will pay $1400---BIG DIFFERENCE
  3. Insurance--United Healthcare---I fall into the perimeters so there shouldn't be a problem. I was just worried that the dr would be booked way in advance and it took months to get in for the surgery part.
  4. Hi everyone. I have my first consultation appt tomorrow. What happens on the first appt and can anyone tell me from the first appt until surgery how long did you have to wait?
  5. Ever been to Weight Watchers? When ever I would start (which was many times) I used to eat the refrigerator the night before so my weight would be high and then at the end of the first week it would look like I lost a lot! Who was I fooling???? Now I think about eating out tonight--a lot-- including desert, eating a big breakfast tomorrow, go out for lunch right before going to the dr and wearing weights in my pockets......I am sooo desperate for this.
  6. OMG I was thinking the same thing but in my pockets----unless they make you strip. My first appt is Thursday 7/30
