  1. Hi Ladies, I’m Sleeved!!!!!!!!!!!! Left the hospital by 2pm and the ride beat my stomach up so I showered and took a nap. I’m doing well! Thanks for all the well wishes! It was nice meeting Beatrice and seeing Candra, Jes, Ashley and Monique. Hope I’m not leaving anyone out, I was a bit loopy. I was so nice of you guys to stop by! I can’t say how fortunate I am to be part of this group! You ladies rock! Like Lee said the first 24 hours was hell. If there was an eject or coma button I would have sure pushed it. I had a severe headache and the pain was so strong even with the morphine, maybe I should have pushed the morphine button more but it usually knocked me out for a short time. Some pain is from the need to cut away and cauterized a bunch of adhesions from the first two band attempts. A couple of the scars are larger especially one where they put the stapler in and pulled the stomach out. No Heather I didn’t get to see the removed stomach, gross! You are too funny! Maybe you could ask to have it pickled. The staff as usual was awesome A+++. Well time to rest I’ll fill you in some more over the next couple days. Nite!
  2. Hello Everyone! Well I can't believe I'm in the comfy chair again all hooked up and ready to go. Weight is good, down 80 pounds and ready to move this to the next level. Nerves are in full effect, I'm ready to be knocked out... Cheers!
  3. Jes - I spent one night 18 hours in the hospital last year when I had a severe nose bleed and they charged me. I'll ask, worth the try! Thanks for the info! Stop by tomorrow if you like.
  4. Hey Candra - Not sure why they said 6 as I thought the other two times it was 6:30 and they don't usually take you back until 6:45-7. I wonder if I can convince Doc Who to discharge me tomorrow night. Nikki says fat chance but I'm going to try. Hospital co-pay is $250 but just $15 for surgery… I can think of a few things to spend $200 on... Which conference room is the support group usually in? The ones near the surgery check-in? Not sure I want to show up in a gown but I could give it a try. Stop by the room if you get a chance. Just get my last name from Nikki when she calls you. I'm sooo hungry. Only had a can of soup and a couple carnation instant breakfast drink things. Want to make sure my stomach is empty for the separation. Goodnight everyone. The MoM has worn me out! My ass is on fire. TMI
  5. Nope about ten older.
  6. Lee when you check-in my Mom and Nikki will probably be in the waiting area. My mom is in her 70's with gray hair. They will probably take you back to the comfy prep area around 9:15 -9:30. I’ll warm the surgery table up for you! See ya tomorrow!!! Cheers!
  7. Received my time tomorrow! 6am show time, surgery 8am. Yippee!!! 7pm drinks and 8pm wheel chair races.
  8. Welcome back Riley! Way to go with the weight loss! skiing, I'm so jealous! Next year...
  9. Pat - I'm down 80. Might be 85 tonight as the flood gates are open... haha
  10. MOM is down the hatch but will the other hatch open...TMI. I bought the cherry flavor this time and its sooo much better!
  11. Hi Ladies! Thanks for all the soup recommendations! I’ll be sure to try them! I love soup but I’m sure to be sick of it in a couple weeks. Yes please come by the hospital! We can do jello shots! Nikki has Candra’s number and will call to give an update. Ashley – I don’t know how you do it! You are a superstar! One more day and a wake up. I hope you are all well!
  12. Hello Everyone! Been busy getting ready for Wednesday. Lots of things on the honey-do list. Not scared or nervous at all. I will get nervous when we arrive in Richmond, usually happens on the I-80 off ramp. Eating has just been ok. Hopefully I’ve not gained any weight… Which Trader Joes Black Bean soup is so good? I’m familiar with one in a box and another in a can… Lee - I’m ready, just wish surgery was first thing Wednesday morning as it makes it much easier… I hope I get the early time Best of luck! I’ll post tomorrow what time I get. Hi Donna - Nikki is home. I have no plans on staying past lunch Thursday. Wish I could leave Wednesday night.
  13. Hello Ladies! Lee – Not sure who the assisting is. Just a few more days! Candra –Way to go with the weight loss! Since we have Rambo and now Rocky I was thinking Terminator since most of my stomach will be terminated! Monique - The boots went to Denver as she was wearing them off the plane. Next time! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
  14. Candra - If they can't cover the trunk put them in the trunk! haha Ok I'm being silly. You are too funny. Yes they WILL fit soon! Six more days........
  15. Hello Everyone! Lee - I have no idea who is assisting Who. HaHa Dr. Im is the only doc that hasn't worked on me so we shall see. I'm ready! Nikki is coming home tomorrow from a work trip to Denver so I'll be enjoying a quiet relaxing weekend while doing some prep work for surgery! I'll let you know Tuesday what time I get. Day before surgery - MoM. Agree with what everyone has said so far. 1. How long did it take the stuff to "work"? It depends (may need depends if you plan to drive around all afternoon), sometimes it’s a blow-out and other times it takes a day and is a trickle...Sorry TMI. 2. Did you stay home that day? No the first two times. Yes this next one. 3. Could you have been at work that day? Yes but be near a bathroom. 4. Could you have been in your car driving around all afternoon? Yes but tow a port a potty around or drive an RV. So many posts hard to keep up. I hope everyone is doing well!!!
  16. Congratulations Nicolie!!!!!
  17. Jes, Nicolie, Donna, Tamra, Candra, Ashley, Pat, Reggie and Monique -Thanks for the sweet comments! Pam - I'm glad your daughter had fun on Saturday! She is so cute and well behaved! Nicolie - One more un-banded day! Be sure to let us know how things go! You will be fine! You are in great hands! Pat - Slow down speed demon! Did you get a ticket? Heather - We are so pulling for you! If there is anything I can do or if you need to talk please don't hesitate to PM me for my email /phone number! You will do this and get what you want just keep being persistent! Yes the Wii is rude. Nikki gets a kick out of it when I step on... She laughed so hard when I first stepped on and my Mii plumped out. Monique - Nikki is in Denver this week for work so I can auction her boots up! Do we hear $80...going once.... What are these food cards about? I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!
  18. Hi Ladies! Reggie – Thanks so much for hosting us tonight! What a beautiful house and family you have! Food was excellent! Lee – I think its “No blind NG tube”. I hope you are feeling better. It was great seeing everyone tonight! Thanks for making Nikki and I so welcome! Donna thanks for the NY push! Night all!
  19. Looking forward to meeting/seeing everyone today! Lee – Whoever gets the first Sleeve surgery will need to ask for the room together. It’s fine with me. I hope you feel better!!! Pat – My doc said don’t waste your money on an ID bracelet for both the Band and Sleeve. If they need to put a tube down to save your life there going to do it a matter what. He recommended listing the surgery on the back of your driver’s license. Can’t hurt getting one, just thought I’d share the info.
  20. Donna - I sent you a PM about carpooling or following you tomorrow...
  21. Small request. Can people put their names in the signature block? It would make it much easier to remember names.
  22. Pat - Keep at it your doing so good!! After my first two attempts I followed the stages for the first week so I know how hard it can be. So little to eat but in a year it wil be SO worth it!
  23. It’s so hard to keep up on this thread, so many posts! Reggie what can we bring? Not sure I’ve seen a list. Want to make sure we don’t duplicate what someone else is bringing. How about Rum shots and Cannoli’s. Just Kidding. Well…ok…yes just kidding.
  24. Dear Freeport Donna - Well if you're going to get all NY on me, I'll check with the boss and see if we can pull it off. I'll get back with you tonight as Nikki must be out making sales calls. Is Rick going? Sincerely Baldwin John (but I might be an honorary Freeportite as I went to the 1986 Freeport senior prom as a Baldwin junior). Lee - I am excited but I need a couple weeks. With the last two surgery disappointments a part of me is nervous in regards to finally having a successful one. Plus there is the whole stomach removal part..ouch! Even though I've been on the 1200 Cal meal plan I'm not losing any weight this week. I hate these plateaus.
  25. Hi Ladies! Reggie - Thanks for the invite! It's my last weekend off work before surgery and I have so much to get done. I'm working the following weekend to limit the time off. Again thanks! Lee - Why did the Sleeve lady at the support group have such a tough couple weeks? Fill us in!
