My plantar fasciitis is rearing its ugly head again since I started walking and hiking again. What did you do to help the pain so that you could continue to exercise?

Do most of you weigh your food? If so, which food scale do you use. I have just been measuring mine, but thought maybe that is what my problem is.

I don't plan on telling anyone in my family. My family will not invite me to baptisms, weddings, or anything where people outside of our family will be there. I am the only fat one, and they have actually told me that I am fat just to get back at them. My mom would not let me visit her at work because she didn't want people to know one of her daughters is fat. I had to sit in the car while one of my other sisters went in to bring her something. My mom use to tell me that just when she thought I was as big as I could get, I would go and prove her wrong. My family never saw me at my highest of 275. The biggest they ever saw me at was about 230. I am 43, and have gone years without speaking to any of them. I have recently started talking to them, but that is because I moved away from them 3 years ago, so they don't really know what I look like now.

There aren't any foods that I can't eat. Somedays I go 5hrs after a meal before getting hungry, and other days, I'm hungery every 2-3 hrs.

I was banded at the Nix, downtown, by Dr. Carcamo. I live in NW San Antonio, off Huebner. I was doing good until this week. I have been so discouraged that the scales have not been moving for the last couple of weeks. I go for my first fill on Monday. What about you?

I was doing really good until 3 weeks ago. My weight loss stalled and that was very discouraging for me. This week I have gained weight. I will get my first fill on Monday, and I am scared. I hope things turn out positve for me.

I am really frustrated. In June I weighed 275 and started Weight Watchers Core. I was losing weight at a regular pace. Two weeks before getting my band on 8/19 I was put on Atkins preop, and the weight loss slowed way down. On the day of surgery I weighed 248. While on liquids, post op, I started losing again. I went down to 238. I have not lost any weight in the last 3 weeks. As of today, I am up to 242. I am scheduled for my first fill on Monday. I am wondering if I should go back to doing Weight Watchers since the high protein thing doesn't seem to work with me.

Hi! I'm Gina and I am 43. I have lost about 36lbs since preop. I've only lost 12 lb since being banded. I am scheduled for a fill next week. I hope it helps. I haven't lost any weight for the last two weeks, and three weeks ago I only lost 1lb.

I can eat white bread with no problem, as can my 2 coworkers who were banded 2 years ago. I guess everyone is just different.

I too loved Dr. Carcamo and the staff at the Nix. What made you come all the way from Georgia to San Antonio? My sons were born at Fort Benning in Ga. I'm glad your home and doing well. Please keep me posted on how you are doing. Gina

You are right, they just want you to give up. If I were you, I would have your surgeon request a peer to peer. If it is still denied you could contact Obesity Law at www.obesitylaw.com, and let them handle it. That is who I used. You can go online and fill out a form and they will contact you and tell you what your options are.

My surgery went fine. I was the fifth case of the day. I ended up staying overnight because I was allergic to the pain meds. The port incision site is the only place that hurts. It was burning a lot the first day. My abdomen is sore today like I did a bunch of sit ups. Please let me know how your experience is. I had it done at the Nix and everyone was very nice.

I was banded on Aug 19 at about 1:30. I unexpectedly had to stay overnight, so I got home yesterday. I am sore, but slept really good last night. I'm not feeling hunger yet. My surgeon left about 3cc's in my band.

I was also told that BCBS of IL is one of the hardest to get an approval on the first try.

Inpt means overnight. However, mine is scheduled as an outpt.
