  1. I have been reading a great deal to get ready for the Banding on June 30th. Everyone here has been so helpful. Many of you have mentioned that Gas-x strips are helpful to get rid of the pain from the gas during surgery. I know that walking helps too. But when did you take the Gas-x? Did you bring it to the hospital and take it there. I always thought that the hospital was very strict about you taking only whet they give you. Also, for how long and how often did you have to take them? Any insight would be very helpful. liquid diet, here I come on Tuesday.
  2. I am having my surgery on June 30th in New York at the NYU medical Center. I am looking forward to finally finding something that can change my wieght and make me feel better.
  3. Thanks so much. I am really wanting the date to come soon as I find myself eating just a bit more since I got this process started. I bet that is common. Whateve I won't be able to have again....I want to make sure I eat it before I can't. I just try to envision myself really being down significantly and I get all excited. I hope this really is the thing I need.
  4. Hi All: This is my first post and I am really glad to be here. I went to my first info session in March and already have my surgery date. I am so happy that I have Oxford insurance since it does not require the 6 month waiting period. I could have had my surgery this month but I will have it at the end of June as I am taking a birthday trip to Italy. I just want to have fun on that trip. I am working with Dr Kurian at NYU medical and she seems to be really great. Everything has gone smoothly so far with all of my pre-op visits (although the waiting room is way to crowded). I have decided not to tell almost anyone that I am having the surgery because I don't know if they will be supportive or feel like I have finally really failed at losing weight. It is way to easy for people to be judgemental so I will wait to tell them when I have lost enough weight to notice. I am really exicited about the surgery (ok, well maybe the time after the surgery). I look forward to sharing this experience with all of you.
