  1. This is a problem that I am very concerned about for myself, as I have always wolfed and washed my food down. I figure practice makes perfect (not banded yet, 44 days but who's counting), so every time I eat I try to take smaller bites, and I force myself to chew every bite 33 times. I usually don't make it past 16-20 chews, as the food has pretty much dissolved by then, but I find if I keep that 33 number in my mind, I am counting my chews and slowing down. And no beverages with food REALLY helps, as I can't wash it down. Another plus side to this - I have discovered flavors I didn't know existed in the foods I eat! Never before did I realize that oatmeal had such depth... :grouphug:
  2. Ah well - you probably believe everything our president says as well, right? :faint:
  3. D'oh! Ouch - I hope I am :notagree before they do that to me, if they do.
  4. PB stands for Productive Burp - as in it produces more than just air and noise. Food that gets stuck at the pouch will come back up if it can't pass through.
  5. I'll be skinnier on the return flight, right? :cake: :biggrin1: 335, and haven't had to buy two seats. Yes, the aisle is better, but watch your elbows and knees when the beverage cart comes by. The flight attendant was kind enough to bring me an ice bag for my knee the last time it got smacked by the cart (ouch!) I will be booking my flight for the surgery soon, and I think I've decided to go first class for the return trip. I don't relish the thought of having to scrunch myself up with a sore abdomen.
  6. Anyone in or around Olympia? I am getting banded by Dr. Ortiz on July 10, 2006.:bounce:
  7. I'm trying to understand something here - your BMI was under 30 and you wanted a lap band? Did you even consult with a physician before making this decision? If you did, I would guess that he or she probably advised against this. Are you a physician? If so, there's a saying about that, something about anyone who diagnoses themselves has a fool for a patient... :faint: That's a pretty strong blanket statement. Would you care to even attempt to prove it?
  8. Boy I can hardly wait!:banana I am having Dr. Ortiz do my procedure - anyone else scheduled in July?
