WOW! That is some gorgeous landscape you have there! I can see why you love it there! BTW...are those TEVA sandals on your feet? I've got some TEVA Dozer Leathers that I LOVE, but always wondered how they would really hold up out there hiking and how comfortable they would remain? We are going to Vegas in November and have booked several different excursions out in the desert, and I was planning on taking them.

I'm glad you are feeling good...feeling restriction...and broke your plateau! And getting out like that to the fair must've been fun. Fried Twinkie?!?!? What in the world...?!?!? As if a Twinkie weren't bad enough...they are frying them now?!?!? LOL How do they come out looking?

Before I started flipping houses, I held an executive postition at a large company. I stopped by my old office to say hello yesterday...I hadn't seen these folks since Spring, before the band. When I popped into one the programmers' offices, he couldn't even speak...his jaw open! He couldn't believe the difference in my weight! What a great feeling! :whoo:

Before my third fill, I was always eating a 3 oz. portion of protein, and I could eat a full cup of veggies. Now I can't even get close to that...probably 1/2 a cup or less of veggies, maybe a bite of fruit for a little something sweet at the end. Thanks for the encouragement on my gain this week. I weighed this morning and was 209.2, so that takes care of my gain twice over! I know these things can fluctuate so much, even within a single day, but I'll take it! LOL

Shoot...I think I'll have to pass on the 4-day diet. There is no way I could eat all that. (Eight ounces of chicken?!?!? GADZOOKS! LOL No way.) I could probably choke down the prune juice and tomato juice, but I can't stomach stewed tomoatoes or squash. Keep us posted on how you do, o2bthin! I'm so glad it is working for you! Isn't it nice to be off that plateau! Good luck!

o2bthin - I'M IN. All except for the squash...ewww. Tomorrow is Day 1 for me! P.S. It says "minimum" one cup coffee. How many are you drinking? I actually gave up coffee, for the most part, two and a half months ago. I still love it, though!

Congratulations! That's amazing! Count me in! Do tell...what is the plan?

My official weigh-in day is Fridays. I gained 0.6 pounds this week. I can't believe it. Well, time to refocus my eating. I think it is not how much or how little I'm eating, but WHAT I'm eating. I'm dissappointed. <SIGH>

You are so fortunate that your kids will even GO NEAR brussel sprouts! LOL No, I just boil them. Not even added salt. I'm the only one in the house that eats them.

(I bet you'd never guess that I'm not much of a talker, huh? LOL I'm really not...but when I don't know something or if I can share something related to learning, I'M ALL OVER IT! And this band is one big question, now isn't it?) Here's another question. If anyone took a look at my food journal you will see a dramatic change this week...I'm snacking like crazy! I had a fill this morning, so I am not hungry at all, but I'm fighting "head hunger". What do you do for this other than to select smart snacks? I've never experienced this before in my life! It is making me crazy(er)!

Here's a link to my blog on My-Calorie-Counter.com, which has my food journal. I'd love any feedback if anyone cares to take a look! (This week has been the worst week ever, though. My eating was great from surgery up till this week.) Also, my original goal from surgery until about 2 or 3 weeks ago was 600-800 calories. When the weight loss slowed, someone suggested increasing it, so I went to 900. That broke my plateau and I lost five pounds, then I started to gain, so I just dropped back to 700. I figure if I can keep my body guessing, it won't go into starvation mode! my-calorie-counter homepage - Stefanie424

I hear what you are saying...believe me. But I'm not eating so little, really. I just eat mostly really low cal foods. Grilled salmon and brocolli is dinner a lot of nights! I can't really eat in the mornings, but I always have a protien shake with Benefiber every day for one meal. I snack on jello, light string cheese, animal crackers, lower-calorie fruits. I just search out the really low cal foods. Thank goodness I LOVE brocolli and brussell sprouts! I EAT, trust me! Self-deprivation has never been my strong suit!

Copied from August Excercise Challenge thread: Well I just got back from having my third fill. She put .6cc in, so now I have a total of 4.6cc's in my 10cc band. Yes, Sweety, mine hurt this time, too! Not a big deal, just like a really bad shot. She said she hit some fibrous tissue she had to push through. So they took all the pics, she put a bandaid on me and I was out the door. I got pics again, of course! This one shows the band MUCH more clearly...you can see where the tube comes off and everything. Unfortunately, you also see my underwire clear as day! LOL I had no idea that the stomach was so high in the body! So that was my morning so far. I haven't tried to eat or drink anything yet, so we will see how this one goes. Have a good day, all...I'm off to work!

June 2007 Bandsters
Hello, bandsters! It sounds like most are getting in better spirits here! YEA! Now we need to infect the rest...they are lurking out there somewhere! Come out, come out, wherever you are! WE WANT YOU! My fill is tomorrow. Yesterday I said it would be today, but that was because yesterday I thought it was already Wednesday! Oh well! So I go in the morning. I've decided to stick to a fruit and veggie and liquid diet for the next week to see if I can get to my mini-goal of "one-derland" by the 31st. (I could LIVE on brocolli and brussel sprouts anyhow! I love them!) I have about ten pounds to go, but the scale isn't budging this last week at all! Okay, this probably isn't "news", but it's the first time I ever saw it in writing, so I want to share. I was reading Woman's Day/Women's World/Women's SOMETHING, while I was getting tires put on my truck today. An article quoted one of their nutritionists saying that if you are restricting calories (I definitely DO, but not everyone digs that method), that after about a week, certain chemicals in your body set off the alarm that you are wasting away! So your body goes into "defense mode" and holds onto all the nutrients/calories/fat/everything that you eat and doesn't let your body burn them. So the answer to this is...and this is the really WONDERFUL part...the answer to this is to cheat one day a week! All day, whatever you want, as much as you want! This will "reset" your starvation alarm in your body. COOL, HUH? For you pasta lovers out there, she said that carbs is a must on cheat day! Me? I HATE spagetti, but gimme a big ole' plate of fettuccini alfredo and I'm your friend forever! I think this is my problem...I'm NEVER going over 700 calories a day, but the weight loss is non-existent now. So from now on Saturday is my "cheat day", starting on the 25th. That way I can go out to dinner after church (Sat PM service) and eat whatever I want!

Monthly Total = 1380 45 minutes elliptical 45 minutes bike ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My fill is tommorrow, Sweety. For some reason, all day yesterday I was thinking it was Wednesday, so I said my fill was today. OOPS! I'll let you know how it goes. Sorry to hear yours was painful today...I hope it only hurt for a little bit!

Wow! I wish I was losing five pounds a week! That's amazing! I hope the weight loss picks up after my third fill on Thursday. (I kept thinking tomorrow was Thursday...guess I'm in a hurry, huh?) I think I'm going to go back on the liquid diet for a week after this fill, just to get back on track with my eating. My calorie intake is completely under control, but with my crazy schedule, I've gotten lazy about taking protein with me for the day and instead am throwing a 100 calorie pack in my purse...empty calories no matter how you look at it. I'll be sure to ask how much is in my band before this fill, too. I'm getting hungrier between meals a lot more lately.

...and speaking of busy.... As if I didn't have enough on my plate...I took my son to register for high school today and got wrangled by the Vice Pricipal to mentor a team of 15 kids once a week at the school on Friday mornings! (My daughter went there, so they know me and knew I was a good target, I suppose! LOL) So now I am volunteering at the High School! My son tried to act like he was embarrassed that I was going to be hanging out at his school, but he loves it! He was grinning the whole time! I have two goals in life: 1) To be the person that my dogs think I am, and 2) To embarrass my teenagers AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!
