Chrissy, I think it's normal to be apprehensive before a surgery. {{HUGS!}} I have never been in an operating room before, so I am nervous too. And I don't even have a surgery date yet! LOL! So, do you have to do a two week pre-op diet? I have noticed some folks do a 2 week, some have a month pre-op diet, etc. Just curious. :biggrin:

NJGirl~ How did your class go?? Any good info you can share?? I'm having a bit of insomnia suddenly. I'm slightly anxious/excited/nervous about this process. :laugh: Hugs

I'm a Tricare gal. I started the process in September and just got my surgery approved last week. My pre-op appt is January 8th. It has been slow progress, but progress none the less. :laugh: Hugs!

Really? Lettuce!? Wow. The one thing you think of eating while on a diet. I really enjoy salads, so I hope that isn't the case. :biggrin: Hugs,

Hey gang! I've been reading all the different posts tonight and a question popped into my head. Carbonated beverages. I have heard they are a no-no. However, some have said you can have them after a few months. Is this something that is doctor specific? I am a confirmed Diet Pepsi and Bud Light lovin gal. I haven't had either in about 4 weeks, since I quit smoking. But tonight I had a craving for both, so I made a wine cooler w/ Diet 7-up, and wondered if that would be acceptable once I was banded?? Thanks in advance!

Hi Tammy! Nice to meet ya! Congrats on getting your date!! I've been reading thru all of the pre-op posts tonight. I'm wondering if my doc will have me on liquids for a month or 2 weeks..... Actually, knowing my luck, it'll be a month! :lol Shelly

Hi Karen!! :thumbup: Nice to meet ya! You've got to let me know how your appt goes!! I have tons of questions, and I am sure I will forget half of them by the time I actually see the doctor! I just found out today that I was approved and have my pre-op appt January 8th. I am totally jazzed!! I'm crossing my fingers the surgery will be in January! :wink2:Shelly

Howdy all!! My name is Shelly. I just found out that not only has my insurance approved my LapBand surgery, but that I have my pre-op appointment January 8th! I couldn't be more excited!!!:biggrin: I am 41, married, with 2 children. I have been overweight since I had my first child, and after the birth of my second little one, the weight just piled on. I have tried every diet out there, even the really crazy ones, and haven't had much success. I am really hoping that by having this surgery, I will finally have the tools I need to become the person I want to be! Must admit, I am a little nervous however! :thumbup: Anyway, glad to be here!
