Finally home and ready for the weekend...........been a really long week!! I never got my resume done becuase working was crazy this week........so working on that now and than sending it out on MOnday!!

Ah Chris I know, I know.............I could tell a different RIGHT away!! It is a huge difference for me. I am at 4cc's. I can eat most anything but I get fuller way faster than without the band...........I totally get what your saying!! It is weird after restriction to go back to less restriction right?? I find it weird. My mind tells me I can't eat something like bread..........which by the way goes down now but still uncomfortable..........but I actually can. Like a reverse mind %*!! LOL Anyway I hear ya and you still get full faster and I am not losing as well as before and I am playing with two pounds up and down but certainly not gaining either. For me it has been a good change!! I am going back for a fill on 9/3...................and ready for it. But it has been a nice break..........my band was being a bully I needed a bit of a break since I was getting frustrated with it............ So on 10/30 you will be 13 weeks?? Wow time will fly..........

Riley I can't come tomorrow. Things are to crazy right now. I just can't justify paying for gas to drive the bay area twice this week..............never mind I need a tune up that I can't afford right now!! It will be a nice change of pace to go every other month for fills...........better on the pocket book!! :-) Ok ladies going off the grid now. Gotta get things wound down at my office today. So now we are hearing we are not moving until October 15 but last week it was September 15...........goverment for ya!! I think they are waiting for all the layoffs to decide what to do.......geez. I am packing up and bring my stuff home than it won't matter what date we move...........LOL

Ah Chris I think you will notice a difference at 4.5. I am noticing a huge difference and I only got 2ccs out. So the next group fill is October 30? I am guessing I will be at that one. I need to write it down and than see what happens at my appointment on the 3rd. Off to work. Nicole your moving today so exciting!! Glad things are going better for you..................

Ah Heather I was at UPE most of the morning trying to negotiate all this stuff...........I didn't know you were UPE 1. Ah than you might be on the forlough list......... Yep Heather I agree with you I feel bad about the COLA and I would give it back to save my co workers and to make my job easier..........UPE 1 needs to go back to the table and agree to something.................I don't want to be forloughed and make a part time worker...........I want to give the COLA back and keep my job.......... Well I work with UPE one alot since I am on the PSW committee. I told them alot of us want to renogiate if it means we can save CPS.............they looked at me like I was crazy..........what are your people saying? Do they want to go back to the table??

Like how much? hmm......and yep Dr. Baggs is on vacation I tried to get an appointment for today but they told me he was out all week......so going next week on the 3rd instead........ Hey Ladies..... Long day. I was in meeting with upper managment and the union most of the day. So crazy they keep talking like we aren't laying anyone off even though we are.....they said business has to go on as usual until the day the pink slips go out. Sept 4............so I guess we pretend. CPS is basically going into triage mode. We will only help or investigate really serious abuse. We won't be going on anymore on anything that we can't take or hold up in court........might be good change I don't know. We won't have the bodies to do the work so we are changing our mission statement and policies in the next month and I guess going back to survival of the fittest...... Heather. I need to find the email but I don't think you will be forloughed. They are saying that the county is going after two unions UPE one and SEIU. Welfare and and CPS and Clerical. We didn't negotiate with the county in July so we are hearing the is retalitory......I think there is an email saying Sheriffs department wont' be touched since you negotiate. But I don't know for sure I need to find the email.......... I don't know where I am on the list. They are chopping the masters degreed workers and keeping batchelors. By Law CPS has to be staffed by MSW by at least 75%........County is breaking that rule doing what they are doing......hoping they won't get caught. So that might save my job if they are forced to lay off batchelors first........seriously if your going down to half staff you need your masters degree workers........... I dont know yet. County mangers have the names onthe list but won't talk until you get a slip in the mail..........they are refusing to give details and keep talking like it won't happen..........so who knows. Lots of us just wish our union would negotiate. We are willing to take a forlough and give up the COLA to keep our coworkers and CPS running........... I am going to chill and get some sleep.

What the name of the place NIcole?? Exciting......... I am headed to a meeting with the union this morning to find out where I fall on the list ane hopefully get some answers on what I need to do.................I was on this leadership committee between the union, management and social workers. ALthough that fell apart with the layoffs I guess we have to discuss the layoffoffs and make sure everything is done going according to senriority. The good thing (i guess) is that I will be able to see the list and hopefully figure out exactly where I stand. It could be a long morning. I am so in need of a fill. I am up two pounds and it won't budge. Haven't been eating anything really bad just ............I don't know I must be eating more to gain two pounds.........just don't feel like I am eating bad...........I guess more than before the fill though............

Thanks Riley for the information. That is great news I am just debating about staying with the county...............I might be offered nights and weekends..................I think I will just try putting resumes out and going to Denver in two weeks so I will try there too.............I just wish had knew for sure what the best thing was.............. Hard being at this office and knowing I am leaving after 7 years.............I am so used to working here.......... Oh Heather I only have 7 1/2 years with the county not 10............I wish!! :-) Girl what you hearing on your end today??

Yea Chris I agree with Riley this happens ALOT so while they don't like it I am sure they see it all the time...........They will probably just give you a bit of a hard time and move on!! I mean what can you do?? And I got pregnant with my daughter by accident it does happen :-) Things will work out....................they always do!! Babies are a blessing so no worries and if you gain weight so what................

Yea let kaiser know sooner rather than later..........I think you don't have to get an unfill until you start to show and the band tightens up.............thought I heard that somewhere. But I think during pregnancy they quit worrying so much about weight loss.................they worry about that later................ Liz........ah dear............she is gonna be a feisty one to deal with a Robin too. Better to get it over with. YOu could just email Dr. Baggs?? Nicole did you take your pregnancy test girl?? You should just be on the safe side.........

off to work..............oh joy!! Chaos rules at that place......... Gonna shut my door and stay off the roller coaster today. Did find out if I stay that the county is trying to cut health benefits and that Kaiser might not be an option anymore. Depends on who is the cheapest medical insurance when they bid.........I really have got to talk to Liz and get this figured out. If I stay I have to agree to part time work and less benefits............. Riley didn't you say something about benefits going up for your too?? I think our county is doing the same thing.....forloughs and higher health care costs. I hope everyone is right that the fill appointments are already paid for with the surgery............

Oh going to the media is a great idea!! It is the only thing that works sometimes..............unfortunelty with CPS what works is dead children..............just wait the paper is gonna be full of stories of dead children..........they thought last summer was bad they have not seen anything get............were are gonna be down 200 workers since last summer........... Oh and they are laying of masters level social workers and keeping the batchelors (6 year degree vs. 4 year) County is going with the cheaper labor............over the schooling and experience. They will regret it. When kids die.........the papers will be all over the fact they let the grad school SW's go...............CPS is suppose to be staffed by MSW's not BSW's ...........they were only around becuase not enough Masters apply for the jobs or they leave after a year...............for better jobs!! I think the papers need to know the truth. We have been told not to talk......................wonder why!! Terry Schutten is up for reelection. He doesn't want people to know CPS is going down until AFTER he gets re elected!! Oops did I spill the beans??? :-)

Chris I skipped protection once and have a 14 year old!! LOL. But my periods have been really crazy all summer. But I would be surprized if your pregnant...........they said it happens ALOT after surgery!!! I thought Nicole was pregnant last week thought. Nicole did you take the test by the way?? Thanks for all the resumes ladies!! REally great stuff and Jes the questions are great prep.......I think I have actually been asked a few times the same stuff............Most interviews I have done have had 3-4 people interviewing me and hard questions.......organization, ethical stuff........hard to know how to answer but important!! Donna I got your resume too. Thanks so much ladies tons of support........... Nicole I don't know what is in the paper. I think just that CPS is all but shutting down................hopefull that is all they write............just that we won't be taking as many calls or addressing as many situations anymore...........just the worst of the worst. But who knows what the journalist will write........ Heather glad you like your class. I don't know why you didn't get the email about forloughs. But I just got it at 5:30 pm today so maybe it is still coming.........it was kept hush/hush...........we are being told they are laying all county workers off to void current contracts....than hiring them back on 9/10s without new contract........crazy huh. I don't know if your department is included but we were told ALL county employees..........interesting to see what turns up. Ok nite ladies. Gotta get up early

Reggie your fill is coming up??? Yea!! I am a social worker and psych type. I sorta know why I overeat but that doesn't always stop me. For me it is stress or bored..........although the last few days I am stressed to the max and I can't eat. It makes me throw up..........sick as it sounds I am not complianing except to I went up two pound from NOT eating!! LOL. Just case we have the education and knowledge doesn' mean we can stop the patterns!! Ok, ok that is me I am talking about............maybe your just scared of your upcoming fill and that is why you did it?? I am starting to feel smaller and it is weird......I am not sure I am comfortable like this yet.......I feel strange somehow. LIke this isn't my body............I like it but I don't feel like me right now.......... Chris you could have done worse. I think you'll survive it. But Chris isn't your band tighter?? MIne gets tight this time of the month....... Ok off computer gotta get this resume out........... Jes you have my mail. Ah Jes if you have something on resumes or any advise on what you think works............I would love to have it. I just talked to my parents and got alot of tips and a sample resume. I would totally do this job that is up for grabs. I just have to sell myself......... I am scared to leave CPS after 10 years and not wanting to lose Kaiser but I think maybe I can work something out with Liz and Dr. Baggs or maybe just buy Kaiser for awhile..............I wish I could email Liz and aske her what to do. I can't get her by phone very easy.........I will try to find her on the 3rd!! Well working on resume so nite ladies......

I tried to call Liz but she wasn't in the office..........I was gonna tell her about this weekend since I needed to talk to her anyway.............haven't been able to get to her. Sacramento County is laying off all of its workers in October. Everyone. The will than turn around and offer you a job at 9/10's and force the forloughs. They also will reduce health benefits most likely at the same time. If you don't accept the offer they will report you to the unemployment office so you can't get unemployment funding. They are doing this void any contracts or obligations to union workers. They will than hire you back with a new contract you will have to sign to keep your job that reduces pay, adds forloughs and reduces health benefits...............so I am not sure that avoiding the first round of layoffs is a good thing. At least the first group will get thier unemploment when they go.......... Union is calling for a strike which I think is useless. I don't have the time or money to strike or turn down a job...........last time they went on strike I couldn't pay my rent that month!! :-P Not doing it again.......... I am working on my resume as we speak. Anyone have a good resume I can look at.......need ideas!!

I won't be there Satuday!! I am gonna see my baby cousin who is about 4 months old!! LOL. I still haven't made it up to see her and I still have her present which may or may NOT fit!! I just need a family weekend it has been way to long........*******feeling jealous however and wishing it was a different weekend************* Nicole you guys staying at The Holiday Inn?? I LOVED that place by the way.............to many memories of PB'ing all night!! LOL But other than that it was great.........loved the hot tub!! Work was crazy. People are chaotic. I only went in half day and worked in the field half day......I just needed to chill. So the final work is 62 masters level positions will be cut. 16 Batchelors will be cut..........the rest is supervisors and upper management clerical and Family Services workers............the total is 200. workers. They said CPS will no longer be investigating all referrals and we are cutting way, way back..........we might only be addressing kids 0-5 .............they don't know but they are gonna put out something in the paper so that the community will know CPS has been pretty much disabled and we can only address the worse cases and probably the youngest kids............ Am I staying or going? I don't know. Looks like if I am willing to work nights or weekends they might let me stay. Than there is that 17% paycut to consider. I won't have a choice of my job or my hours but if I can accept that they will probably let me stay........Also every friday off starting in NOvember........that might not be so bad .........just the pay cut is bad. So I don't know. I think I stay and stick it out no matter how bad it gets.......I have a couple of places to turn in my resume tomorrow. I don't know what to do. No good options right now BUT Kaiser...........I am almost willing to put up with anything to keep my kaiser and keep Dr. BAggs and my fill schedule.........I could also try to find another job after I get to my goal weight!! So better news today but still not 100% sure of anything...........and nights and weekends!!!!!!!!!!!! And back to court and attorneys again........... What can you do??? California sucks??

Oh that FMLA stuff was complicated. My supervisor did the paperwork wrong and I missed a paycheck......or lets say I didn't get a paycheck for almost 6 weeks. I think you get the FMLA stuff done at work. THan the day of surgery you get the paperwork as you leave the hospital. You give the paperwork to the medical secratary beforeyou leave. That is sorta a pain cause you don't feel like doing that. YOu can have the person who brings you turn it in for you. Ok crazy busy today trying to get stuff closed out and wound down............will check in but probably won't be on to much today. Thanks Jes. I still may stay in Sac but just not sure yet. I have other applications out around town but for stuff that is not social worker related. I think for social work I have to get out of California.............I could still make the CPS cut but not likely. HOnestly I don't think CPS will survive the next year.............by next summer I think it will close down. They won't be able to operate with the current staff levels and more layoffs in January is what we are hearing.............than another round next summer. ONly 220 left so not much left to cut. I really think CPS will close down.............we are thinking the sheriff's department will take over CPS jobs eventually. I don't think CPS will be around much longer or if it is It will be reduced way down to just the very, very worst cases............

OMG HEather they still laid off 200 officers!! I didn't know that. Really sux!! Yep Probation took a HUGE hit in February I had a friend there. I think they just keep rotating between the three departments.............I am really scared what is gonna happen in our county, never mind our state........... We are cutting sheriffs and probation and CPS and letting the felons out. At the same time we are closing the mental hospitals so add the mentally ill to the mix. I think public safety is gonna go crazy!! YOu can't help but predict the worse.............crazy, crazy, crazy stuff. Get your surgery as soon as you can before the county does any more crazy layoffs Heather!! I am so glad I got mine done..........working on Dentist and eye doctor this week.............trying to get it all in just in case!! Now I need to talk to Dr. Baggs about coming in twice in September and mayb October.............If I could get to my sweet sport before I move or lost my insurance that would be so GREAT!!
