Hi flirty a little tip i heared if you have had somthing stuck is to put loads of ice cubes in a glass and fill with water a sip it all if you can .Supposedly when you get stuck the inside of your stomach swells and drinking the ice cold water reduces the swelling.

No carrie unlike others i never even met dr chris till i was lying on the operating table as it was fredrich that spoke to me the night before the op. He told me that men somtimes get a diffrent band from women as there internal organs are usualy bigger but there was nothing about the cost of the band.

Hi carrie i dont have a heliogast band i have a (sagb) swedish adjustable gastric band which comes in a few different sizes i think that is why we were unsure.

Hi just for all you pre bansters about to get done if you are going to get your fills done off someone else make sure you you ask dr chris or frdrich what size and capacity your band is before you leave. I have had a lot of trouble trying to find out what size mine is. For all the good care i got off dr chris and his team in belgium the after care i have recieved since i had the op is realy poor. When i had my op at the end of oct i was told i would get my first fill at the end of nov they were over booked so i had to wait till dec. When i got my fill in dec i was in and out his office in 5 min. I went back in to recption to book jan fill only to be told that that jan was fully booked and i would have to wait till feb for my next fill.For me that was unaccetable so that is why i went to wls group for my fills. I got the package off them unlimited fills for six months which i thought was a good deal.On my first visit i was in wendys office for 35 min which was a big change from 5 min. She asked me loads of questions about how i was doing and i asked her loads of questions that i wanted to ask dr chris but did not have the time to. She gave me lots of advice on diet and what i should be eating after fills and the coming months which i found realy helpfull. As the months went on i was nearly up to my capacity of the band 9-11cc.I was sitting at 8.75 with no restriction at all.So wendy asked me to email dr chris to ask my capacity of my band just to check this was the capacity as he has this info on his laptop. So i emailed him 3 times over the space of 3 weeks i also sent the same question to fredrich three time .I am still waiting for a reply off dr chris. I got a reply off of fredrich after the second week only to ask before he can tell me could i please tell him who i am getting my fills off of. I told him it was wls group and i am still waiting for a reply. So wendy emailed dr chris and asked him for the information about capacity of my band.He replied the same day to her as her email had wls groups email attached as she fowarded it to me.So he has obviously been ignoring my emails He told her that anyone who new about band fills should know how much to put in and because i had been given the booklet from the hospital he did not need to provide any more information because this had all the information on it that is needed. He then told her only the patient by law can have any information on the op and they cant give this information to a third party.But attached to her email was the one i sent him so i am the patient. So i am still not any wiser to what is the capcity of my band .Sorry to go on so much but i just think people should know this before they go .

Hi i live in the uk and watching the news this morning they have said all flights to mexico have been cancelled for the forseeable future.

No gillian i am the same i am not recieving any email notifacations to tell me that there are any new posts.Plus all my screen is white its realy hard to read the posts compared to the old blue screen.Is any one else the same.?

Hi all i got band fill number 5 three days ago now.Up until this fill i have had no restriction.But now i think i have hit my sweet spot.I had some tuna and mayo for lunch and after about 5-6 tea spoons of it that was me full and it started to back up so i stopped eating. Could anyone tell me what they eat for a full day and the amounts.?

Hi sammy i have had five fills and am away up at 9.75cc in the band.Wls will let you have them every 2 weeks but you would need to travel to a diffrent venue to get it unless you live in london where they do it every 2 weeks.

YEEEEEEEEha i have weighed in this morning and thats me lost 4st 2lb.Im delighted with that as that is three lb since my fill.And i think i have finaly got restriction i made 2 of the crisp breads with cheese triangles for breakfast that they give you in the hospital and i could not finish the first one.I tried a muller light youghart last night and it took me 20 min to eat.Everything is going down real slow even water.So i think this could be it for me.:rolleyes2:

Your doing great garry training 5 days a week.Im finding it hard to think about exercise 5 times a week.lol Hopefully another tiny fill will be enough for you to get to your sweet spot.

I got a package off them at xmas that was £275 for six months unlimited fills i think it about £350-£375 now.I think for a single fill it is £85 but you would need to get a consultation first which is £120 and includes a fill.

I dont know if any one does them that far north .I dont know if you would need to come down to edinburgh or glasgow unless you phone any of your local private hospitals to see if any of them do them.

Hi odge When you get the band you will have restriction from the swelling of the op meaning you wont be able to eat large amounts.And when the swllelling goes down you will be able to eat pretty much everything that you could before.When you get your band fills done every month it fills the band up giving you more restriction meaning the the quantity you eat gets smaller and smaller until your eating a very small tea plate of food to make you full.

Ye gaz it was at wls they have moved to next to glasgow green so its closer for me than great western road where it used to be.Im the same as you i feel as if i have got restriction in the place .The water gurgels down and im thinking oh shit its to tight but after 3 glasses of water i relise its ok and in a few days i know there is no restriction .Hows your exercise going?Have you lost any more?Whens your next fill?

Haha ye its my special recipe.Well i gave up the cigs dont eat chocolate or biscuts or eat any crisps so for me thats my treat and it works for me.lol

Hi mmm i have had five fills to date Unfortunately like flirtylass i have had to do it all the hard way without any restriction.We are the unlucky ones that will need there bands filled up to the max before we get right restriction.Some folk will get it after 2 or 3 fills which i would of loved but i dare say if i did not have the band in i would not have lost as much. Ye flirty soup is great:thumbup:. And you know me im sitting here with my special liquids that realy fill me up.lol

Hi all welcome and good luck to all the newbes who have surgery coming up you wont regret getting it done. I had my weigh in today and fill and im down 9lb this month so well pleased with that .I had a bowl of home made soup blended down tonight to test the restriction and there does not seem to be much there but it is early days.I will be able to tell in a few days if this fill is the one.

Hi mandy i was on the nhs waiting list for two years for the band .I was then told by the surgeon to come back and see him in six months as there was no funding.For me this was the final straw and thats why i booked with dr chris.When i had the op i went to my dr to see if they could provide aftercare .He wrote to the surgeon who was going to do the band on the nhs and he wrote back and said that there was not any funding for aftercare either.But if i wanted to go to him private he would do my fills for £300 each i dont think so.If the doctors in this country were doing the op as cheap as dr chris and giving the same standered of care we would not be going to belgium.So if i was you i would get your op from dr chris and get your fills from him or wls group who do a package for fills and not for £300 each.x

Hi all i just thought i would give yous an up date after my fill on tue.I have some restriction I think. I had poridge for breaky that went down no problems.I had weight watchers chicken curry for lunch that went down ok but after i had finnished i got a tight feeling in my chest.And for dinner i had chicken peas carrots and potato on a tea plate and that went down ok.Same thing as my lunch a tight feeling after i had finnished.I could not have eaten any more if you put it down to me as it felt uncomfortable so i dont know if this is restriction.Has anybody that has restriction had the feeling of tightness in the chest .It feels as if the bands getting steched.Its not the same feeling as getting stuck as i have had that plenty times.

Hi wishfull i had my last fill on the 24feb and this fill today.But on the month from jan to feb i only lost 1lb.How many fills have you had.?
