  1. Thanks for the replies. It's good to know that eventually it will get a bit better, though I must admit I'm not looking forward to goat breath. My poor husband, both me and the dog. I'm allowed to have a vegetable meal in the evening. Basically green vegetables, no milk products at all though. Well one day down, twelve to go.
  2. I have my operation scheduled for April 25 and have started my optifast to slim down my liver. It is six o'clock and I'm having a hard time. My stomach is screaming for food and I have a headache and feel light headed. I'm committed to the procedure as I know it's the only way that I'll lose weight. I'm just looking for words of encouragement. Does the preoperative fast get easier? Are there tricks I can use to calm my stomach? Any words of ecouragement are appreciated. :help:
  3. I'm also having my banding done on April 25. I went for my consultation today and the doctor had a cancellation for the 25th. I snapped it up because I hate to wait, and more time will just make me more nervous. I start the optifast tomorrow, so Easter is a bust. I also have to get my blood work and doctor pre-op check up pronto. It feels a bit overwhelming, but again it just gives me less time to worry. Reading this support group is certainly helping me calm my gitters. :nervous Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences.
  4. It was great finding this site and this thread. I've been toying with going to see someone at the surgical weight loss centre, but was hesitant. Your glowing reports have given me the courage to start the ball rolling, and make an appointment to see either Dr Mumford or Dr Coburn. Thanks.
  5. Thanks, PhotoNut,this is exactly the kind of information I need to help me make up my mind about the operation.
  6. Basically my question is in the heading, will the lap-band help with hunger pangs? I have been unable to lose any significant weight, or keep off the little I have managed to lose, because of constant hunger pangs. I am considering the surgery, but would like to know if it helps one achieve a feeling of fullness and satisfaction with little food. Thanks.
