Anyone have a picture of the card that they could post for Grady?

Restaurant discounts with our weight-loss card
I guess you would have to ask your surgeon. They gave me one but no one told me what it was for. Really the restaurants just require proof of bariatric surgery. So I guess if you don’t want to walk around with a bunch of papers they give you the card instead...

Restaurant discounts with our weight-loss card
Don’t use me as a resource I just found out about it this morning! Ha ha. But sounds like the Brazilian steakhouse only charges half because they are aware that a bariatric patient won’t eat anywhere near $25 worth of food, much less $50! I was fascinated by that!

February 2019 weight loss buds
It is so funny – – every time I lose weight (enough to make a visible difference or hit a benchmark number on the scale) I kind of go into shock about my “new body”. Then, about two weeks later, I adjust and decide that I want to lose more weight. I am at that point now. Finally pulled the trigger and bought some smaller clothes. Some of them are actually too small and it’s making me feel OK about continuing to lose. I am closing in every week on my goal weight. At one point I decided I didn’t even want to hit my goal because it almost seemed too thin. Everything is relative, isn’t it?! Also, my stomach (skin) looks pretty gross. In my clothes it is pretty flat now but the texture of it is well - horrifying. I guess my only resolution will be plastic surgery.... Size 6 shorts and a small T-shirt. Both new! I am proud of my new body and rocking it! I am 14 pounds away from my original goal weight of 100 pounds. Let’s gooooo!

Restaurant discounts with our weight-loss card
It came to my attention today that the card that my doctor provided post-surgery is good at some restaurants for discounted meals. Participating restaurants will also allow the server to sell children’s menu items to card-holders. I was totally unaware of this until today and wondered what experiences others may have to share. A quick Google search showed me that red lobster and Olive Garden participate in this program. The OP whom I read this from said she used it at Fogo de Chow To get half price meal ($25 as a post to $50) by providing proof of bariatric surgery. If you are aware of any other national chain restaurants (or Florida restaurants, in my case !) that honor the bariatric card and offer a reduced cost meals, would you mind sharing in the comments? Thank you!!

Frou frou - Agree I think that is so silly. Better they sell a small second entrée than nothing at all.

I rarely even order anymore. In fact I don’t go out to eat very often either. It took my husband a few months of going through the same exercise to realize this. I asked him to just let me split a plate with him he never wanted to. I think after seeing me waste meal after meal he’s finally coming around. I think we’re going to try to go out to eat this week and I will see if I have any success talking him into sharing with me!

I googled this because no one ever made me aware of what this card was for. You should read this forum on this cruise ship website. People get totally up in arms about the thing. I actually stopped reading it because it started irritating me. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2522100-restaurant-discounts-for-bariatric-surgery-patients/

Found this- I always order children’s portions anyway. So far no one has pushed back. Now I know why I have my card! https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2012/10/09/162563213/doctor-approved-discounts-for-gastric-bypass-patients-at-the-buffet

fascinating! You can actually bring proof and they will give you half off? I wonder what other restaurants do this? I actually have a card in my wallet that my doctor gave me. Never knew what I needed it for. Well I guess I can take it to this restaurant and use it ! Yes and sorry, when I posted in NSV should’ve explained that. If you search NSV on this website you will find there is a forum of non-scale victories. I love reading those.

What is wrong with the crazy auto copy/delete activity? I’m using the mobile web site via safari. Anyone else having these problems? It has actually been going on a while, just never mentioned it because I always proofread my posts.... I’m embarrassed, but left it posted b/c I’m hoping someone knows how to fix!!

I bought some root boost and I normally never use product on my hair. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’ll read the hair loss forums too...

OK guys maybe I’m just pessimistic (I stress maybe) but am I the only one who has found this surgery to be a complete B*TCH?!
I think I would’ve been a little uncomfortable waking up in a semi private room with another person right next to me. I guess I should count my blessings and I had a private room. That sounds really uncomfortable.

Yes! After trying full body lipo as a means of weight loss, waking up from a sleeve was a piece of cake... At least that was my experience. If this is your first surgery of course you’re not going to have a basis of comparison. But based on the plastic surgeries I had done previously - this one was not too bad. My real issue was the weeks after it, adjusting to the new diet, barely eating, feeling like crap for a while. But the actual surgery not so bad.

Oh and to answer your other question, an epidural is just what it sounds like. You know they use them for pregnancy and giving birth. It’s basically a pain block they put right into your spine or whatever disc is inflamed. I’ve had three in my neck and I just did one in my lower back today. I go back next week for them to work on another area. I also get facet injections Cortizone injections and trigger point injections. Basically I’m getting needle stuck in me every week.

I am doing the same thing. And I can understand everything you are saying. I’m actually glad you shared this because I had forgotten about my ankle pain. It is gone now! My boobs are implants. Bad idea 11 years ago. I let the surgeon make the judgment call on how big to go. I did not ever want boobs this big. He talked me into going larger said I would regret it if I didn’t. Well he was wrong! I’m like you- I’m waiting to get through losing weight before I get a consultation. I don’t know how much more weight I am going to lose. Sort of hoping it stops soon. I Originally said I wanted to weigh 100 pounds. I weigh 117 right now. Now 100 sounds so skinny. This is me at 117, just now.

February 2019 weight loss buds
I’m just not hungry. Today I had about a fourth a cup of coffee with creamer, forgot to eat for about six hours, at 2:30 this afternoon I ate a few bites of shrimp salad, and I ate probably a handful of M&Ms. So that’s it. I really don’t think about food at all. Plus a lot of the pain killers I take also are killing my appetite. I discovered this since I lost them nine days ago. Which was like hell on earth. I did manage to eat like six Or seven Wendy’s nuggets yesterday. That was a lot of food for me. I had two bites of steak for dinner a teaspoon of mashed potatoes and probably two or 3 teaspoons of green beans yesterday. I have 000 cravings for sweets. But I was never a sweet craver before anyway. I only ate the m&ms because they were sitting in front of me....

I eat anything that sounds good to me, road trip or not. I still feel so restricted that I can barely eat during the day. The only time I can eat any kind of Normal quantity is usually late at night. I do try to be mindful to it to a degree. But mine is more of a waste not approach. So I order a lot of soups when I go out to eat. I don’t know the calories but Wendy’s does that chili that can help you meet those protein goals. McDonald’s are usually just order one single hamburger or a happy meal. Tear the bread off as I eat. I may get more or five bites of the Patty down at it. The whole hamburger with the bread is 179 cal so I would assume I’m consuming about 50 cal. Good idea on the boiled eggs
