Just a quick post, trying to atleast keep up with the reading. Grandma looks great this morning and I think she is going to do just fine. Leaving in 30 min to pick up mom and dad and show Grandma her new place. But the biggest thing I wanted to post is, THE SCALE MOVED!! Only a half a pound but it's 199.0 now, tomorrow 198???

I actually had those yesterday! I notice if I have them I need to be very careful and take tiny bites and chew. Being breast meat they are drier and get stuck on me easier than other nuggets. Well Grandma arrived safe and sound. She just went in to bed, she looked exhausted. Tomorrow I am picking up my folks and we are going to see her apartment for her first time. I hope she likes it. We had a real nice dinner, both my sisters and my kids were here. I just did some BBQ pulled pork in the crockpot. Tomorrow night I am cooking a 23 lb turkey and having cake for my Dad's 77th birthday. I am handling all this food pretty good given my new fill yesterday. Grandma didnt' recognize me first at the airport, of course, she's now concerned that I still want to lose some weight and thinks I weigh 130. LOL And my sisters jumped on that, not wanting me to lose more. See I was always the 'fat sister' and am no longer!!! There's a new opening in the family for that position, I held it long enough and vow to never fill it again. Went to my gynecologist today for my yearly. Mentioned a sore back, they did a urine sample and are sending it for a more complete urinalysis, they think I have either a kidney infection or stones brewing. I sure hope not. In the mean time I drink cranberry juice.

My grandma's flight gets in in 2 hours and I have to pick her up, then my parents tomorrow. Grandma is staying here til her moving van arrives and we can move her into her place and my folks are staying for almost 2 weeks EGADS!! Will pop in when I can. The scale is moving!! I was back firmly at 199 this morning which is 1/2 lb lower than it was before when it was going back and forth those 2 lbs. Never to see the 2's again!

As for a basket idea, since spring is coming how about a gardening basket with some garden tools, gloves and some seeds?? so far my tweak fill I got yesterday is doing good. I was worried about being too tight but so far so good. I definitely can tell though. Had some chicken for lunch and was full much faster.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Katy, if you do a search on the boards here, I know there is a thread with detailed instructions on how to post a ticker. I am terrible at explaining it, but you do it in the 'edit your signature' area. MominLV, congrats on the loss!! I know you post every monday your losses, why don't you post more regularly? Would love to get to know you more! I used to live in Henderson very near Green Valley HS, Sunset station was being built when I lived there and opened the weekend we moved away.

I am already optimistic that I am going to be down in the morning. At the dr. office, they, of course, weighed me. I was surprised at the number being as low as it was as I was in jeans, belt, etc. So maybe it was going to move on it's own fill or no fill. Just got home from my fill day dinner. A bean and cheese cup at Del Taco, it's 89 cents and I ate less than half. Hubby called me a cheap date. That's always our fill day dinner since I am on mushies.

Let's make a pact then, to not let other's comments get to us anymore. I just got home from my 9 mos check up, they were very praiseful on my progress, said I was doing everything right. We discussed whether or not to give me a fill. I was down 27 lbs from 3 mos ago when I was there last. I am eating more it seems and get hungry more. So they decided a tweak at .25cc and see how that goes. She felt since I had lost so much that the band was looser. I mentioned my reflux episode and the popcorn and she felt it was an isolated instance and that I had overdone it (I had). If it seems too much or reflux continues, I will go for an unfill. Best part of all, there was no charge, for all my volunteer work they gave it to me for free.

Daily News!
Good afternoon. I had my 9 mos post op check up today too. They were very impressed with my progress and said I was doing everything perfectly. I got a tweak of a fill, .25cc, I was unsure if I needed one as I still had good restriction but was able to eat more and haven't lost in over 3 weeks. She said I probably did need one since I was down 27 lbs in the last 3 mos and was losing some of the fat pad around the stoma between it and the band. So we shall see. I can't believe it's 9 mos already, or will be on Thurs. the 5th. My surgery was on a Thurs the 5th of June too. To think how nervous I was this time 9 mos ago and doubtful this was going to work for me. Glad I proved myself wrong! I hope this busts my plateau!!

I'm here to help...
Good morning. Well today is my 9 mos post op appt. I can't beleive it's been 9 mos already. The time has gone fast, yet it seems that this has been my way of life for some time. I always weigh a little more on the dr scale of course. GRRRR Janet, I was tracking until about a week ago. Nothing has changed in that I mean my calories haven't gone sky high or anything. I generally average about 900 calories a day and have one higher count day and a lower count one so it averages out. Apples, could it be that your body likes where it is at? As long as your dr says you are fine, I wouldn't worry so much about it. And the heck with what other's are thinking. Easier said than done as I am one that has spent 49 yrs of my life worrying about what other's are thinking. This past year it has finally started getting easier. Still would love to see a photo!! I shop Marshalls because it's closer, TJMaxx is so far way, even Marshall's is a bit away and I dont' go there often. I found a good Good Will that I like. Good luck on figuring out your maintainance. When I get there, I know just who to go to for advice between you and Janet, you are great role models.

Mrs Bubba, I started with a 3 in front of my weight too. It was great to get that 2 and even more so now to get that 1. Though Onederland keeps teasing me. I hit 199.5 then go back to 201.5 and back and forth I go. I just can't seem to bust it. I've not lost in over 3 weeks now. I heard the last 20 to 30 were the hardest and I hope this isn't how it goes now. I got very spoiled with good losses every week. I would imagine in 7 mos you are going to feel so much better and will enjoy that vacation. I never wanted to go anywhere either, afraid of the walking etc. Now I am looking forward to my vacation. I am 9 mos out, in fact I have my 9 mos post op appt today.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
So are you saying that that sensation is reflux? Just not sure what reflux is or feels like. I did have lots of butter on that popcorn. Dh got a little trigger happy with the butter dispenser.

Sorry Linda, I didn't mean to offend or upset you. Perhaps there was another page of posts or more people were posting at the same time.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Orea, congrats on losing 100 lbs!!!! Okay, question, with all this talk about reflux, what exactly does that feel like? I woke up in the night with a weird cough type sensation and a sortta burning sensation in the back of my throat. i got up and coughed some and then started belching like crazy. Never happened before, is that reflux? We had gone out to a movie (again) and I had popcorn, wondering if that triggered it. I was sortta surprised that I could finish the small bag (never happened before) so was thinking of a fill on Monday at my appt. but now after all this reflux talk am not sure. Could it be because I ate too much?

I had trouble getting here for a few days. One whole day and ahalf a day I didn't have internet at all, then when I tried to come here I kept getting a message that 'my link appears to be broken'. HUH??? Glad to be able to get back. Still stuck on the scale, it's been 3 weeks now, my longest w/o losing. BUMMER! I'm flirting with the 199, I hit it, then go up 2, lose them again, then go back up them. I want it to stick and then go down some more!! I did order a new tankini for my cruise from Land's End and it came yesterday and it fit!! WOO HOO!! Mrs Bubba, I hope your mom is okay.

Daily News!
Allie, hope you are having a great birthday! Cathy, happy belated birthday to you. the new kitchen sounds wonderful. My internet was down all day yesterday so didnt' get on much, it would come up for a few minutes only to go back out. I am going to Texas De Brazil for dinner tonight, it's a Brazilian Grill type place where the guys in gauchos bring you all this meat on sticks and you can choose what you want and is all you can eat. They have a gianormous salad bar too but my plan is to stay away from that so I don't fill up before the filet mignon comes around! It's Denver restaurant week and all these restaurants in town have dinner specials for 2 people do dine for $52.80 (for mile high 5280 feet) and you get appetizers, dinner and dessert. they started this about 3 years ago and it's a huge hit, most restaurants are sold out well before the restaurant week even hits. We could only get reservations for 5pm tonight. This place is normally $42 for one person. So am anxious to go, but this is my first buffet post banding. But it's not your typical buffet. I will for sure get my protein!!

Daily News!
Happy Birthday tomorrow Allie!! You young thing!! I too had my birthday near banding. I began thinking of the band the end of April, went to my seminar then. My consult appt with the surgeon was the 14th of May and I turned 50 on the 17th, had surgery June 5th. I hope to ring in 51 at goal as well. I have 2 1/2 mos to lose 20 to 30 lbs not sure if that's possible or now with how much my losses have slowed down. But I do know I will ring in my birthday feeling much better than I did last year!

Sharon, when I started working out, it wasn't pretty. I could only do about 10 min on a recumbant exercise bike. It was so hard to move my 300 lb body to do much more. I gradually got that up to 20 to 30 min but it was so boring. And then I added some weight machines. Then in Jan. I started doing this Power 90 workout, at the time I thought I was getting in pretty decent shape. This DVD showed me I could get in much better shape. We have been doing it for 6 weeks and was really seeing the improvement. now today we moved up to the next level and it's like I am back at the beginning again as it's much tougher. But I feel stronger and more confident every time I do it and can do more. It helps so much that I have a friend I do it with. It was going to be the 2 of us, then her husband joined us, mine comes when he can come home from work early enough. then a few more weeks into it another gal joined it and now her husband has too. The guys are even liking this workout. Imagine that?? My daughter hadn't seen me ina few weeks when she came over yesterday, she noticed my arms and how toned they were (well minus the wing I have underneath it ha ha) so that felt nice that it was noticeable. I never would've thought it possible that I would work out this much and not hate it. I won't say I enjoy it but I like how I feel and what it's doing for my body.

Everyone might want to check their stats. Mine have changed today and then corrected again. Several posts back someone used an old post. But then someone else updated from a more current one so my stats are back to correct, not sure if everyone's are.

Daily News!
Too late Lucy. I peeked at the scale this morning and it wasn't good. I am hoping it was all the salt from the popcorn I had at the movie for dinner last night. GRRRRR On a positive note, this marks the week we up our Power 90 workouts to phases 3 & 4 and OMG is it tough. But I DID 200 CRUNCHES yesterday!! (yes I was shouting). And my pushups are getting almost respectable looking. LOL

Thank you, Gypsy Girl, for the super kind words. They made my day. Never in a million years ago did I think I would inspire anyone when I went in for surgery 9 mos ago. After all, I was convinced I was the one it wouldn't work for. I've never been to sparkpeople, so sorry can't help you there. When I track my food I use www.dailyplate.com. I'm sure someone will be familar with it though and be able to answer. Keep posting, it helps keep you motivated, focused, and on track! Well let's see, Mrs bubba, a little about me. I actually have relatives that I've never met in ND. They are in an area called Cooperstown I think. My Grandma who is 99, knows them and they are her cousins so by the time you get to me pretty distant. She lived in ND a brief period of time growing up but soon moved back to Wisconsin which is where I am originally from. But as kids we moved to Minnesota then Denver where I grew up in junior high and highschool. Met and married my HS sweetheart. Celebrating 30 yrs of marriage in April. His family is all from SD and we go back to the farm every Nov. for pheasant hunting. Last year I even convinced hubby to drive up to ND just so I could say I've been there. I am on a Quest to get to all 50 states, have 4 to go. After marriage we moved a lot. I've lived in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, commuted to Atlanta for a very brief period of time, back to SLC, then to Calif., then Delaware (worked in Pennsylvania though at QVC) then finally 2 yrs ago back to Colorado which is where we hope to stay put. I have two kids, daughter age 27 and son age 25. Both single and no kids, though I am getting antsy for grandkids, but prefer to be a mother in law first if you catch my drift. Next week my 99 yr old Grandma is moving to Denver, and I will be helping in the care for her with my sisters. She's going to an assisted living type place though is living in the independent living part. She's amazing. We will Celebrate her 100th on May 1st. I've thought myself overweight all my life. Got many weight comments from both parents growing up. Looking back I wish I could have all those years back, I was not overweight. I remember going on the liquid Protein diet when I was 18 (aka Valerie Harper - Rhoda from Mary Tyler More show) and got to 125 and my mom said I could still stand to lose 5 lbs. HUH????? I am 5'9 by the way. But in reality I gained with both my kids and never lost and kept gaining more. I just hit Onederland last week and it's the first time being in teh 100's since I was pregnant with my son. There you have it my mini life story.

I'm here to help...
Goodness, I don't get to check in for a day and I have 3 pages of new posts to read! Welcome to the new folks!! Just got off the phone and making final payment on my cruise in May. We got our cabin assignments too, a little bit of an upgrade so not bad. Yesterday we moved up to phases 3 & 4 on our Power 90 workout. OMG! The speed and intensity sure got ratcheted up. But the best part is, my 27 yr old daughter went with me. The old lady out worked her!! HA HA!! I loved it. She's very thin and young and thought the workout was hard. Also the 'ab ripper' part went from 100 crunches to 200 crunches and yes I did them all!! That's where I lost her. Actually I did 198, didn't get the last 2 in. I was very impressed with myself so please excuse my bragging, but I know this was the place other's would understand! After all that though, we went to the movies and I got my #1 dangerous redlight food, POPCORN, my duaghter put way too much salt on it. But anyhow I am up 2 lbs this morning. GRRR hoping it is partly fluid retention.
