Are you planting soybeans and corn again? At least that is what I think I remember you said you harvested last fall. DH's uncle plants lots of corn and he plants his rows a certain way for the pheasants in the fall when he has all the hunters come. But he does soybeans and not sure what else too. As he's aged he's letting others rent part of his land for crops and concentrates on his cattle a little more. Not sure what he'll do when he just can't do it anymore, he's 70 and only had a daughter who left the farm years ago. It's not easy work that's for sure, but he loves it and can't imagine not doing it.

Too funny. I hate the lower waisted ones as they gap in the butt even more. But I don't like them too high either, picky picky that's me. That's why when I found this pair of pants I wanted more colors as they hit just right. She called them their trouser cut so I will have to remember that. I'm not a drinker at all. In fact at the bday party we had a champagne toast and I only had 3 sips and I felt that. LOL Not sure if that's because it's my first drink in forever, or because of the band or both. But in Hawaii, I do like my lava flows. I asked last time I was there what they were made of or similar too and he said similar to a strawberry colada. But I've had strawberry coladas and it's not the same, maybe I'm just missing the cabana boy bringing it to me and the beach in Hawaii for the effect. LOL Well I've unpacked and repacked and managed to take out one shirt and 2 pairs of slacks. Still have way too much I think but am going with it. A first for me, I am only bringing one pair of jeans well actually wearing them on the flight over. Usually that's all my wardrobe is/was. It's fun to be able to buy different things, or I guess I should say want to buy different things. I guess I care more how I present myself now, not that I was a slob before, I never left the house w/o make up etc. but find myself thinking differently about what I wear, etc.

Apples, I do like NY & Co for the talls as well, Gap has longs too but they are discontinuing my favorite jean. Also get some at Bass Pro of all places. My daughter just gave me some 10's from Express too that got too big on her and they fit me! Never did I think I could wear her hand me downs! My problem is in pants is usually the waist gaps and even at almost 300 lbs I'd have to wear a belt (under my shirt of course) to keep them from gaping and pulling down when I sat down. My waist it small for my butt or something. All your lake talk has me so jealous and remembering the 'cottage' of my growing up years. Such peaceful and happy times. If they have Lava Flows on the ship I'll have one for you! With the umbrella of course.

Where have all the June bugs gone? Out enjoying spring and life in their new bodies?? Just checking in before I leave on my trip. We leave in the morning and I am so excited, already I hardly slept last night. Got lots of new clothes to pack! My parents left yesterday and the 100th bday party for my Grandma went wonderfully. She really enjoyed it. My daughter scanned tons of old photos from her scrap books and did a slideshow of them and put them on a digital photo frame for her, she sits and watches that frame like it's a TV. She loves it. Talk to you all when I get back!! Strike, congrats on that belt! I have always worn one but never tucked in a shirt, one of these days I will tuck in!

Good morning. WHEW!! My parents left town yesterday, the birthday party for Grandma went great, as did the one for my son at my house the next day. Had to move our BBQ indoors due to the rain but it worked out. The only bad part is I am up 3 1/2 lbs!! GRRR I knew I was a little more lax than usual but EGADS!! I got all freaked out but then tried to turn it around in my head, heck I'm still down 120 lbs in 11 mos. today is my 11 mos surgery anniversary. I hope to lose 5 lbs this month though so I can reach 125 lbs lost by my surgery date and reach my docs highest goal for me. Tomorrow morning I leave for Barcelona and my cruise sets sail on Sunday. Been a busy, busy time for me, but I am loving it and can't believe how much I am able to do. If I had all this going on at this time last year I probably couldn't have handled it all. And I would be in pure panic mode about now about flying tomorrow and the airplane seatbelt. i even took my seat belt extender out of my carryon!! Vitamins: I too take Centrum Chewables, I take the Centrum Silver ones, also take Calcium Citrate the petite ones I can swallow so take Citracal, and I take a sublingual B-12, my last vitamin tests I was low on B-12 and B-1 (this is thiamin I think). I just ran out of B-1 and stoped as the test was better. I do notice at times I bruise easier, which vitamin is this a deficiency in?? Clothes: I just went back to Ann Taylor Loft to get more colors in a pair of pants I got there that fit so well. In fact it was my lucky day yesterday. They weren't on sale and were $50 and I usually try not to pay full price, but loved the fit so did. On my way out I noticed a sign in the window that said 'buy one at regular price get one free' sale. I asked about it, she said it was sweaters only and that the sign said 'select items only'. I looked again and there was nothing that said that. The clerk looked and said you are right and said pick out another pair of pants for free!! So I got 2 more pair!! WOOHOO!! Julie: am so glad you are getting a sitter, though I think your daughter should be a little more understanding. You are doing her the favor, dont you dare feel guilty about it. You need to heal so you can be there for everyone else in a better way! Well time to leave for my last day of work for 2 weeks!!!

Good for you Allie in going and for being good at softball too!! WOOHOO!! This summer is going to be so much different than last summer. Just think last year at this time we were nervously awaiting our surgeries, pre op stuff, etc. And then were recovering from surgery for part of the summer. This summer we are so much lighter, active, and out participating in life!! I'm looking forward to it, though won't be joining you on no softball field! LOL I've been scarce due to out of town company and as soon as they leave I leave for my cruise. I head to Barcelona one week from today!! WOOHOO!! Today I am taking Grandma (who's 100 on Friday) and mom and dad to Blackhawk to play some penny slots and have lunch. Mostly going for the pretty mountain drive, Grandma has never been in the mountains. Should be interesting at a buffet with the amounts I eat now. LOL

I would tend to agree with BrownBear. 2 cups isn't much restriction, you could still not have good restriction but still get stuck on eating too fast or too big of bites. However, before getting a fill I'd practice the smaller bites and slowing down as if you get more restriction and still do that (if that's the case) it could be pretty painful to get that stuck

Good morning. Finally a chance to check in. I am at work but can't leave the desk, covering extra hour while others are in a meeting. So good time to surf here. The seminar went great. My mom who usually isn't real supportive was great. She even kept track and let me know I was about the biggest loser up there and was the biggest if you take out the bypass patients. Hit Goodwill yesterday and found some great deals. I got some 'new' Jones of New York and Ann Taylor things!! Love it when that happens. Those are my favorite brands and I'm always excited to find them at Goodwill. I leave for my cruise one week from tomorrow well for Barcelona the cruise leaves on Sunday. I can't wait!!

Good morning, have a few minutes before leaving for church so thought I'd try and catch up while I've been away from LBT. No email notifications again so had no idea how prolific you've been on posting and had 3 pages to read! As for the clothing sizes changing as you lose. I noticed at first I had to lose about 40 lbs to drop a size but now as I am so close to goal, I can drop a size in as little as 10 lbs. I think it has to do with more the percentage of weight we are losing. 10 lbs loss on my weight now is a much bigger percentage of a loss than it was when I was 305. Also, at 305 I think I was in denial as to what size I really wore and wore things pretty tight too. I've gone from size 26 jeans to size 10 so far. The scales are a moving again!! Lost 4 lbs in the last 4 days. Total 122!!! WOOHOO!!!

Before picture? I didn't get to see a before, you just sent me an after. I wanna see! Well gang, I've been scarce lately. Been soo busy and it's getting worse. Tomorrow my folks arrive, next week is Grandma's 100th bday party. Folks leave on the 5th of May and we leave the 6th for our cruise. I try to read and keep up, but may be just lurking for the next few weeks. No I didn't vanish, this place is too important for me!! Oh and on Sat. I am speaking at my surgeons seminar. Weight is still at 118 but thta's okay, it moves slowly when it wants to these days.

Hmmm, interesting, you are right. I joined this challenge late so my weight is fromwhen I joined. Oh well, maybe it's what we are comfortable with posting. My start weight at surgery was 305. My losses have slowed down as I get closer to goal.

Betel, the start weight is the start weight from the beginning of the challenge, I am pretty sure at least it is for me. Good afternoon. Well my snowstorm ended up being more of a rain storm in my part of town. We got over 3" of rain which is unusual to get that much but they said if ti was snow it would've been measured in feet. They got more snow west of me. Today it's in the 70's and supposed to be 80's by the end of the week. Springtime in Colorado! Holly I lived in Sandy UT for many years. Been to Provo a lot. Loved ProvoCraft. Weight is down to 118 lbs lost. Only 8 lbs to go to get to my docs highest goal for me and 18 to a normal BMI. think I will go for the normal BMI. I've been super busy, involved in a few things with church, volunteering at the hospital, my folks are coming to town later this week, then we are planning a 100th bday party for my grandma, then it's my sons bday, and then I leave on my cruise!!! Two weeks from Wed. I leave for Barcelona. Oh and tomorrow is my 30th wedding anniversary. So if I am scarce that is why. Just didn't want anyone to think I vanished. This place is very important to me. OH and also am speaking at the seminar on Sat. WHEW!!

Hi Susan, I pray you get some answers regarding your pain and possible gall bladder issues. I had to have my gall bladder out 2 mos after my banding surgery. I felt so much better afterwards and my band surgeon did the surgery so felt comfortable about that. Sounds like the same area I had my pain in. Hopefully they can give you something so you can still go to FL.

Could it be the lettuce that gave you trouble? I read of folks eating it with no problems but in my nutrition class they had warned us about it as when you chew it and swallow it tends to ball up and can get stuck easily. I'm not a huge lettuce fan so haven't even tried it. As for fish, I always go by the if it's opaque in the center it is done, and when it flakes. Joann, good to hear from you. You sure are going to get your exercise in chasing a 2 yr old. Like apples, I am anxious for grandkids but my kids aren't there yet either. though they are 27 & 28 they live a lifestyle more like 18 & 19 I think. LOL Time to settle down, this old lady thinks! LOL

Teach, glad you are getting filled up again. Hope it is going well for you. Hunzi, what a different experience this time around huh? Glad it is going so well for you and glad you stayed with us Junies! Allie, sorry to hear about your hubby's job, he must be a great guy! He has the same name as my hubby! Good luck with your possible move plans. We have had a wet wet couple of days. Luckily it mostly fell in rain by my house. They said we'd have a couple inches of rain or a couple feet of snow depending on the elevation and temperature. I'm further east of Denver on the plains more or less so our's was in rain. But many parts of the city got much snow. But we warm up tomorrow and the rest of the week should be 70+ so things should really green up.
